Yeah. My experience with Lost was that they decided to throw whatever they liked on the island and hope to explain it away later. It's not due to foresight. It's CYA.
"Well, the fighting seems to be mostly carried out my the Feyadeen militia. They operated strictly inside Iraq before the war. So the people who are killing americans (and others) in Iraq seem to be people who did NOT kill any americans outside Iraq before the war."
They were too busy killing Iraqis under Hussein's orders.
"Remember, movie piracy doesn't just hurt actors, but also camera operators, key grips, makeup artists, and costumers."
What about crappy movies like Gigli, Charlie's Angles 2, and most recent Dana Carvey flicks?
I'm not for pirating, but I'm certainly against going to the theater and being subject to watching some guy tell me how pirating won't hurt the stars and producers (much) but really hurts "Joe Blow".
I half expect Sally Struthers to pop up and say, "Save the children!"
I don't much care for anime either. I don't much care for chick flicks, either.
Besides, it's a known factoid that anime uses subliminal messages to make slashdotters flame non-anime watchers.;-)

Ahh... no love for South Park at teh /. ...and me with out moderator points!
Don't you mean "4di0z, punkz"?
I popped some pills, sprayed myself with yellow paint, and thought I was being chased by ghosts...until the car hit me.
I have to say I really liked the movie for the first 20-30 minutes. The SFX and environment was great.
After that, the plot took an odd twist and I just never caught up with it.
Now THERE'S a pot calling kettle black.
If they really want to help end bottlenecks on the net, then make a smaller download!
I'm going to start up a company that paints stars in the night sky. Invest now!
ROFLMAO!
Excellent point, considering the other flamewar, above.
...in a few thousand less words?
Maybe it's suffering from the BSOD and no one is there to hit ctrl-alt-del?
lol
Merry Christmas anyway!
In case anyone would like to discuss DVD's or Firefly in general:

This was the official Fox board, and is now run by Mutant Enemy.

The line between advertising and news is that /. isn't getting paid for this.
The are, however, providing a service in informing users of new items, old favorites, and some off-the-wall products.
LOL

I wish I had some moderator points right about now.
I've heard it already supports over six billion.
Matrizens playing Matrizens playing Matrizens. Ooh. it boggles the mind.
Does this mean there will be (potentially) thousands of super-human players running around defying gravity and time?
The only way I can see this work is to contrast the "norm" with the "above norm" and have thousands of mindless bots walking around.
Sort of like at a RIAA convention, only smarter.
And I hear they even have a prequel out. "The Hobbit" or something.
Sheesh. They could have gotten a little more original, yaknow?
Maybe something like: "There and Back Again"?
...would be a one with one hundred zeros following.

When I hang up on said telemarketer will I get arrested for violating his free speech rights?
Or worse-- be forced to listen to his sales pitch?

That's an awfully pompous and ignorant thing to say.
