While I agree with you that the US is a menace to the rest of the world, I can guarantee you that, unless you live in a very remote part of the world, your local government have signed agreements with the US regarding harmonization of laws like these, and will continue to do so in the future.
What we need now is for the EU to start building a massive military force, throw out US forces, making them take their lousy food and subpar culture with them.
it is more true that people often just hold opinions irrespective of their economic interest
Have you ever heard of the American Dream? Or were you talking about foreigners? In this case you might be right, but always remember that an americans first and foremost duty is to make the economy grow, at what ever cost.
And please, don't call me 'morally bankrupt' or something like that. Sad metaphors won't do anybody any good.
Credit Cards in their current incarnation should have gone away in the seventies.
Where I live, almost nobody have credit cards like this anyway. All outlets are online (even cabs and other mobile stuff) and the amount is directly charged your account.
The only use you have for something like Visa or Mastercard is if you are going to order something in the mail, or from abroad. When you order something to your door, the courier comes with an online terminal.
Oh, and using the credit part of the cards, like using money you don't have, are reserved for trailer trash or yuppies. All stores have better credit offerings than Visa and Mastercard anyway.
All Amiga system rom calls are patchable with a simple setpatch(). The program setpatch runs at bootup and for some versions of the roms it patches a lot of system calls before everything works like it should.
It is not bizarre and it was not previously tried before their analog of the US supreme court.
One thing that is bizzare, is how so many americans firmly believe that their way is the only way. When you don't really know anything about their system and many of you evidently don't know much about your own system either, why do you automaticly assume that your system is superior in every way?
"the courts have decided that since the state and federal governments are separate sovereigns and therefore successive prosecutions based on the same underlying conduct do not violate the Double Jeopardy Clause if the prosecutions are brought by separate sovereigns. See, e.g., U.S. v. Koon, 34 F.3d 1416, 1438 (9th Cir.'94)"
Which is essentially what has happened here. The case is tried at a local level and being appealed to a regional court.

Well.. while US lager like Budweiser and Miller is more like water with alcohol, Lapin Kulta actually tastes like beer even if the flavor is quite undistinct.
I've been told that czech Budweiser tastes great compared to the US version, but I've yet to taste it.
Wow. Is this normal in the US? Over here everybody between 13 and 30 have mobile phones with sms. You can get phones with cash cards for $10 in every gas station, supermarket etc. I didn't really need a mobile phone, but without one you're cut off from a lot off action.
When it comes to reliability, I can't ever remember sending an sms that didn't get through, but when the traffic is very high (like on new years eve), messages can be delayed up to twelve hours.
If they did, then we would all use it anyway. FTP is proven tech. Would in house stuff be better?
I'm not sure I understand what you're saying. Would we, everybody else, still use FTP even if they used something else?
Proven tech? It's just a protocol. And a very dated protocol too. It wouldn't take me a long to come up with something better, and I'm just an amateur without a budget.

I wasn't talking about 51st or 52nd states, or anything like it.
I was merely commenting on what seems to be the prevailing US worldview. God -> USA -> UK - Truely ruling other lands liberty
I'm not American, so..

Do you really see no possible way around this?
I'll leave it as an exercise.
All i hear is bla bla..
Do I have to remind you of France's stance in the whole Iraq/Turkey business?
Face it. Either you are with us, or against us.
..is a -5 Unamerican moderation.
Have you actually tried this, or are you just assuming that it won't work?
Assumption is the brother of all fuckups.

I'll just call up Cisco and tell them that their VPN client is virus infected. That would give them a good laugh.

Surely they could've hacked together something better than that? If that's a question of economy, their budget must be extremely small.
I didn't read the article btw.
