    This is a good thing, whenever someone plays catch up, they alwasy seem to develop a better product than if they were at the top. Take for example how IE6 has slowed improvements while other browsers continue to create. A little competition is a good thing.

    Will it be possible that wireless internet will become the default in the next five years over traditional phone/cable? With distances this far, would it be too hard to set it up in rural areas and provide low cost broadband?

    Will we laugh at ourselves 50 years from now as we Americans do when we had the communist witch trials? Is it possible we shouldn't say that it is downloaders that is killing CD sales as it might be people have finished replacing their collections, artists are getting in general worse and more shrink-wrapped, and finally true piracy done by organized crime(ie Mafia style business)?

    Why don't they just refuse to put these software titles on their computers. I feel if a company thinks it can steal your data, it shouldn't be forced upon users and potential new users.

    I honestly cannot see them implementing a DRM that you hint at. If Microsoft wanted to own your computer, they could, but why would they want to? The publicity alone would put Linux OS not only into the mainstream as the best choice, but you'd probably see a lot of your non-geek friends asking for it. Would Microsoft honestly want this?

    Can you honestly say that you wouldn't allow your son/daughter to see a PG13 movie? The cartoon isn't as widly distributed as a movie and thus doesn't have as much of an impact.

    The 89 is speedy compared to its predecessors though. If you find yourself using an 89 and you complain it doesn't solve your integrals fast enough, you should do it by the ol' pen and pad and see which one you'd prefer.

    If he does this, he'll ruin a children's classic. LOTR was okay because they were for a wider audience. However, The Hobbit is more about imagination and every child will get a different interpretation. A film puts out one interpretation thus squashing imagination.

    That's true, but when you intend to release something under the GPL, you are still providing the source. I don't really care if some company takes the source then after, as long as it's there, why worry?
