Just because the EULA says it, doesn't make it true. Otherwise by reading this sentence you'd be agreeing to sign over your life savings and hand-deliver a package of Skittles to the Dalai Lama within 3 working days.
Or even better, I can't put a punji pit in my front yard and then put signs on my property that simply say "Not responsible for injuries incurred on this land" and be totally immune from retribution when Little Billy becomes Little Spike.
I'm just really curious as to WHY you have a keylogger on your own laptop? You just let people log into their bank accounts from your machine or something? Wonder how many times you type the letter 'q' in a given day?
What do you think Ubuntu is trying to be? Seriously, how is this insightful? It's just a case of someone not seeing the forest for the trees. Ubuntu is trying to be (and succeeding at being) a great desktop and server distro.
I can see sun not wanting to leave potential customers out in the cold though, such as those that believe that RedHat == Linux. So they put their weight behind Ubuntu, and don't stop supporting other mostly compatible distros. I see no problem with this arrangement. All it means is that Ubuntu will get better for the end user.
A larger screen == larger case == more room for components and such, as well as airflow around higher-performance parts. But "better" is subjective. However, a larger screen is often attached to a faster laptop.
Meh. I can change my own oil. I'm a Linux geek. I can also build a chair, paint a wall, dig a ditch, plant a garden, do many things that other people just pay someone for. It's not just "linux geeks", it's people in general. And I'd daresay that Linux geeks are MORE likely to be the kind of person that changes their own oil. It's the people who just want things to work that pay for the services that they could do themselves.
If I had a nickel for every time I've lost an erection as a result of glare on the screen blocking my view of teh pr0n, I could rent me some high class hookers.
Man, I'd be broke. You should go talk to your doctor if it's that fleeting.
We weren't talking about Ma and Pa Jones. Do you really have that short of an attention span? This article is about businesses. It's quite viable for a number of people in business, where you have an IT support infrastructure. It's just inertia that keeps them with what they're used to in probably 70% of cases that really don't use anything Microsoft-specific. (bear in mind all numbers come directly out of my ass, but are based in experience). I'd say that with tactics like this, MS is doing the hard work and making it easier for people to go against the inertia.
Umm... actually, that'd be more like saying "between 4 and 3300 people will die of the bird flu.". Nice try though. I think those boys at NASA know a bit more about math than you do. They don't want to be hit with a comet either.
Your analytics leave a bit to be desired. I think you're more into fearmongering with pseudo-science.
Well, the reason he got the insightful is because
a) he answered most of your gripes with truthful answers and
b) your other issues basically say "I want Linux to work exactly like Windows, and I will accept nothing less!", in which case, why not just use Windows?
Just because you hate the command line doesn't mean everyone does. Back when DOS was the only system around, people learned to deal with it. And you know what the easiest way to find the MAC address of a network card in Windows is? Give ya a hint, it's not with lots of mouse clicks. And my parents can somehow manage to type a few lines at the console to get things working.
Face it. You just don't like Linux. That's fine. Just stop trying to pretend that you do.
Man, I don't know about you, but helping multinational monopolistic corporations with license enforcement really gives me the warm fuzzies! It's the reason I still get up in the mornings.
Ever read the facts about depleted uranium? I wouldn't want to be shot with it, but I'd daresay that things like radon, burning oil and their own countrymen blowing them up provide more hazards to Iraqi's (that is what you were alluding to, wasn't it?) than depleted uranium shells.
The word "buried" only has one r. Read a book sometime.
Second, you're wrong about the total area needed for solar power.
I don't know if you're being dumb on purpose, but you sure got modded high for it, so you have some mods who don't read well either.
Not everything has to be directly monetized... Sun is keeping a hell of a lot of mindshare with Java. Any time anyone thinks "java" they almost invariable think "sun", which is a good thing for them. Lots of decision makers will be thinking "Hmmm, we have a java application on our server, and sun makes java... maybe we should have a sun server?"

That'd have to be two lightning bolts. We reproduce sexually. /. after all
And I mean that "we" meaning other humans. This is
You don't even need to add miserable to failure any more.
So you're saying Redhat reinvented the wheel, and they're finally getting it so that it's round? Seems stupid to me, nothing more than a NIH response.

I think that this says it all.

But only in New York can you get a good "3-L" lama.
I deserve to be shot for saying that.
Ummm... steroids are basically synthetic testosterone, dude. Dunno where you get your info from.

Because that works when even the VM needs access to critical data that can't be hosed. Virtual machins are not an answer to all problems.

Because it's just that, a belief. Everything I've seen, all evidence points to "no". Now, I can't PROVE there isn't a God. Another matter entirely.
Why do you hate Darwin?
Did you mean XBox Thwii-60?

Two things:
The word "buried" only has one r. Read a book sometime.
Second, you're wrong about the total area needed for solar power.

Now if they'd only stop with their stupid pseudo-case insensitivity and be like a real OS and just be case sensitive.

Amazing... it's almost like that Dewar dude had a good idea... ;)
