Being completey undereducated I will nevertheless offer my little theory.
Most of the unaccounted for gravity is due to frame dragging. The faster an object spins the more it pulls on the space surrounding it and increases its gravitational pull.
Will the influx of new Ipods bring the price of the current models to levels where I may decide to buy one?
The main thing that has kept me from getting an Ipod is the battery. I spend alot of time working outdoors and a replaceable battery is something that works very well for me. If the battery dies I just put in a new AA (iriver 300 series). Even if it a proprietary battery if it replaceable I want the ability to poop in a fully charged battery. If I wasn't so flighty I could be sure to charge the device every night but that, unfortunately is not the case for me.
Someday they will manage the technological feat of incorporating an FM tuner into the IPod. When I have the option of listening to NPR or my music collection I may switch to the IPod. Right now I will stick with my IRiver player.
If you have a high quality watch it is likely that the crystal is made from polycrystalline alumina (i.e. corundum...in this case synthetic corundum). The alumina glass is different however in the fact that it is a glass and therefore lacks crystal structure.
Since it doesn't have to be crystallized it is likely that it will be able to be produced in large sizes. However, being a glass it is not going to have the malleable properties of aluminum metal and will probably shatter if hit hard enough.
Have you heard what they are putting on the radio lately? It is mostly crap. i don't understand why the big music companies and Clear Channel think they can hose me and call the crap they are playing good music. In the past month I've bought 4 cds, two at concerts that I atteneded and bought from the band and two from indie labels. Bad music plus their stand on digital media makes me steer clear of the large labels. If you create a product that is so good that I can't help but buy it your sales will go up. Keep publishing crap and I will pick and choose what I like and download it.
Yes, except Mary would have to be an XY female, which does happen and now i'm pulling numbers out of my ass but i believe it is around 1 in 10,000 and of that maybe 1 in 1,000 have reproductive capabilities. and then there would have to be some sort of non-disjunction during meiosis (who knows the odds, not me)which would result in a parthenogenesis which if carried to term (more unknown odds) could result in the birth of a child from a virgin.
I, however, tend to believe she was lying about being a virgin.
When I was in Moscow three years ago I bought the complete works of R.E.M. and Brian Eno in MP3 format for 3 dollars each from a street vendor. I could have also bought Windows ME (except I have better taste than that) and hundreds of other titles for the same price. Mom and Pop, gas stations and the dude with the duffle bag selling pirated music at the bus stops in Richmond, VA (where i'm currently located) have nothing compared to the overseas countfeiters.
As the number of advertisements go up the quality of the website goes down. At least that what it does in my opinion, because if the advertising gets too annoying stop frequenting those sites (as i have done with television and radio). It would be nice to have a system similar to public radio or public television where a person can become a member to enjoy quality, advertisement free, web content. I know that option is currently available for individual sites but that is not quite as convenient as paying once for all of them.
Hmm, there could be a public web portal that would allow you to link to member sites with their ad content removed for public web subscribers.
I would defintely become a member

Google, the WalMart of the internet.
Is this an evolutionary restraint on nerds breeding?

Sure it's been said but bears repeating.

I think I'll head over to Kuro5hin to find out why this is a great thing for our country
Carl Kassel has done the message on my voice mail? Can I get message portability or do I have to win again on "Wait Wait, Don't Tell Me"?

And with the announcement of Rocky VI in the works I can now die a happy and content man.
