A lot of schools and companys use OpenOffice exclusively, including my school! I think it's MS who is behind, the future is portable applications available for everyone, isn't it?;)
So, I guess this is more generic web development security right?
I'd appriciate a book that covered generic web development security,
I don't think it has to be language specific.
It's all the same principles in most languages.:)
My first computer.. was a family computer, bought on a local auction here in Norway for 3000 NOK. It had Windows 3.11 on it. I believe it was a 486.
Then, my first own computer, was a Duron 850 mhz. I believe I paid 8000 NOK for it at QXL.no (auction).
I'm sure.. if this was in Norway, it would have been against the law. This doesnt sound good. Shouldn't be legal to require this, and I hope it is not in the US either.

Maybe not on topic, but in Norway iTunes is getting investigated by the goverment for violating various consumer and marketing laws.
Will be interesting to see what the outcome will be.
Sounds interesting indeed. But I already have my email server. And would I really trust my users privacy to Google?
I don't want to sound like a flamebait, but I don't trust Google much anymore. I used to.
This is bad. What we need is better education of the users I think. And of course better operating systems. *g*
Well, a step forward is that Microsoft is now including their spyware-scanner by default, if I remember correctly.
I wonder if you actually send the *files* (or just the list of files?)? If you did this, what kinds of files can you upload? And is there any limits to the size?
Wouldn't this be space excessive to Google?
So, if this is the case. Can you download the files back remotely? If not, I see no need for *searching* remotely, when you can't *access*.
GPL3 does _not_ forbid DRM. GPL3 does only requires a certain amount of freedom for the user. So if the users freedom is maintained DRM can still be implented and comply with GPL3.
This is good. I like it that corporates take use of the BitTorrent technology.
Now if only Opera became opensource, I could maybe consider take use of it. *g*
Heh, nah. Only problem is that it does not have builds for any recent versions of my distro (Slackware). The one I found worked a while, then it started segfaulting when I tried to go to websites.
If you want to save this file run this command:
mplayer -dumpstream mms://edge.channel4.com/theitcrowd/episode1_c4web. wmv
It requires http://mplayerhq.hu/MPlayer
I'm feeling this guy werent that objective.. I'm kinda feeling he could have done better with getting the examples. I know there's not that bad in Linux, and many of the popular Windows applications now a days is worse..
This is true. In Norway where I live, MSN seems like the only IM ever used. I tried to stay with ICQ back a few years ago, but since I discovered no one was using ICQ I forgot it and went on with MSN. IRC is also very popular in Norway, there's a nice norwegian community. It's not IM per se, but it's superiour than IM. I love IRC, I don't understand why people would use IM instead of IRC.:>
I get so pissed when people refer to the European union as 'Europe'.
And, yeah, this is a sad day. I'm glad my country, Norway is not in the European union. But sadly we're in http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/European_Economic_Are aEuropean Economic Area (EEA), and we might get forced to this too.

Actually, the police can't do anything if you have a complete wide open WLAN and some one abuses it. They can't hold you for something you didn't do. Atleast it's like this in Norway.
You are kidding right? KDE 3.4 fucked up majorly for me. The keyboard starting malfunctioning, something it stopped working completely and I had to restart X. Also I feel that the new roll-over thing on the icons were kinda annoying. I went back to KDE 3.3 and it was all fine again.
Whats really the use for this? I have to say, there are so many light and simple, non-bloated opensource PDF viewers for linux. I can mention xpdf, which I use for viewing pdf in linux. I am sure adobe's version has more features and all that, but I'd still stick to xpdf.
gah, i wonder when i will find the perfect linux distro. i currently know no one that fits me. currently im running slackware, but id like to find a new distro.
i was thinking of installing mandrake, but i really think it would be too heavy for me. id like a system that is more integrated, a kind of combo of slackware and mandrake would be cool, heh..

Err, nevermind. I got it, this is a digital watermark right.

Real Time chat (like IRC) is much more convinient than emails. I feel that it's often easier to understand tone on IRC.

I heard rumours about that the early betas of Microsoft Anti-Spyware removed Internet Explorer. ;)

But that is because it's a difference between IRC and IM. IRC is more like a community. I don't mind the "tards", I can avoid them if I want to :)

This is not sourceforge hall of fame? ... Seriously though, thats the first thought that crossed my mine when I saw this headline.
