They thought it would be innovative and fun to make a racing game with licensed cars that was cel shaded, similar to what Nintendo did with a certain Zelda title. Nintendo managed to pull it off by making a great game. Nintendo is known for great games.

Personally I think when someone wants a game called GT Pro Series, they want licensed cars that LOOK like the real deal, not some cartoony graphics, and thus IMO most people who get it expect something other than what it provides.

Bad ideas, will always be, bad ideas, no matter what console they are for.

Personally if you want a good racing game on the Wii, get Need For Speed: Carbon, that delivers.

IMO the reason why DRM is dying is because NO one wants to put up with the other subscription download services' DRM schemes. Apple is the only company who won't give in to all the RIAA's demands. They are in constant battle with the RIAA and MPAA. Why do you think only Disney sells movies on iTunes? BECAUSE THEY'RE IN BED WITH APPLE. and now they added Paramount. Apple has refused to do anything more restrictive than their unlimited use on 5 computers at one time thing.

Yet somehow everyone always disses Apple because they use DRM, even though they're the ONLY company trying to preserve what they can of our rights while still playing by the rules.

Are you living in the US? If you are I will be blunt with you. If you don't like your rights being managed by a corporation then get out, because ALL of our rights have been managed by corporations for at least 100 years.

A good question is when the poster of this article and other people that had problems try this? I didn't get my Wii online until 12:30 because I woke up at 10 (when the store I reserved at opened) and didn't buy the Wii til 11:30, then I got home and spent a while opening everything (3 controllers, 2 nunchuks, Wii large home organizer from Target, and the Wii itself) ... but I had no problems with WiiConnect/24

I do have to say that the Switch and Carry Large Home Organizer that Target sold prior to the launch is flawed and the Wii does not fit in the stand, in any way shape or form, due to the Wii having rubber feet on the left side that are used for placing the console horizontally. The included vertical stand has notches for the feet. Here's the point: If I want to play Half-Life 2, or some kind of crazy WW2 shooter, I will go buy it for PC. If I want to play a game like Resident Evil 4, Dead or Alive 4, Eternal Darkness or Madden 05, I will go buy a console.

Others have already illustrated part of this by saying that they would rather use 1600x1200 on a PC rather than 640x480 on a console. Although the resolutions do get a bit higher..

The prices of consoles are getting to the point where one could buy a PC for relatively the same price or cheaper. Nintendo is doing the right thing by keeping the line between console and PC gaming crystal clear, where as Sony and MS are blurring that line, and want to continue to blur it to the point it can no longer be seen.

I for one will be buying the Wii, and boycotting the PS3, at least until they come to their senses and release one that ONLY plays games and doesn't cost a fortune, and well if any great games that are exclusive to the 360 come out then I may buy a 360, but for now Wii is the only thing I'll be buying because I already have several PC's with graphics cards that destroy what the 360 and PS3 are capable of.

It's also worthy I think to say that Nintendo is creating a platform for games that PC can't even begin to touch currently, and thus they are really creating something here. With the XBox 360 and PS3 they're basically creating a souped up version of something that has been done over and over and over again, and can be done better on a PC you probably already own. The Wii is breaking away from that redundant cycle.

Nintendo haters talk about how many times can you rehash Zelda and Mario.. how many times can you make a bloodily-shoot-everything-on-the-screen game and then throw a new name on it. There's redundancies on both sides. At least it appears Ubi-soft is taking a stab at true innovation with Assassin's Creed :)

The 17" Macbook Pros were updated at the end of May give or take a couple weeks. I know because when the Macbook Pros first came out I saw the 15" and 17" were EXACTLY the same in specs and display resolution, except for the screen size so I was like pfff how lame.. just get the 15" .. then after I bought my 15" I noticed they had changed the 17" to make it 1650x1025 and also added 1gb of RAM standard and a MUCH better graphics card.

So you could call this something of a gen 1.5 ... because Apple always does that.. they come out with a new product, and then in a ridiculously small amount of time they're discontinueing this version and then updating that one..

When I returned the 2nd 15" MBP I demanded to pay the extra $300 and get a 17" (i get edu discount) and after I talked to the manager he gave me a brand new 17" MBP. I had ZERO problems with that one... unfortunately I was robbed and it was stolen from me, and so then 2 weeks ago finally the insurance came through and I went out and bought a replacement.. The replacement too has NO problems of any kind and does not even get that hot at all! :)

The notebook that got stolen did get pretty hot (though not as hot as the 15") and the top half (screen portion) was not perfectly straight when you close it, the left side was warped up a little bit.. the new one I have today is perfect. *knock on wood*

Blizzard really needs to draw the line though, because the game itself contains the ability to run macros, and there are perfectly legal addons around that automatically buff you while you move, and also buff your entire party with the repeated press of that button. How is this not a different color of the same automation?

Blizzard has not banned those tools.

The banning of the posts on the WOW forums would make me diligent to post this to every gaming forum that I could get my hands on, and try to stop people from playing WoW. But I digress, there will always be thousands of players waiting in the wings to replace those who boycott the game.

but seriously, the only thing you can effectively do is either don't play the game, or play it and be really careful about stuff like this, because (like Ebay, Paypal, etc.) Blizzard seems to have a "shoot first and ask questions later" policy and seem to not care about customer service in the least, and just like with Ebay and Paypal, it does not hurt them financially to screw-over consumers once in a while, because they have thousands upon thousands of consumers who have no problem with the service. Ebay didn't even want my money when they banned me (of course because of their lack of caring about taking care of their shit I am no longer banned :) Unfortunately though, Blizzard does take care of their shit.
