This is a really interesting idea. Seems kind of crazy that we need parasitic devices to stop us over eating ourselves to death, but looking around the western world it'd seem a perfect fit. A Macbook powered by Big Macs!
Can we have more of this kind of thing, please? A succinct post that covers all cases and summarises why we shouldn't bitchfight over the same stupid, easily refutable point over and over again?
The Israeli Narus products have long been suspected of being state-sponsored. Given the number of deep packet inspection devices that come out Israeli companies, designed to monitor backbones, this isn't surprising.
I think that it would cause the rock around the bore to fracture, slide, and block the bore. This has been done by the USSR successfully. Google "Petrocalamity".
HTC Desire: reaslised I'd forgotten to sync the new Alabama 3 album I'd just downloaded. Using the free app "ES File Explorer" on the phone I connected to my home wireless LAN, browsed my media share on my server, and copied the MP3s to the handset. The Music app then automatically indexed them into its library.
Yes, bu tin Concorde's case the economics *didn't* work out. Concorde requried a cottage industry of small component manufacturers, service companies etc that only worked on the small and ageing Concorde fleet. In the end it was economics that killed it, not the aircrash.
No, OP is correct. SPecifically the S-biner has a habit of losing stuff. I used to geek out at the EDCForums (which is *the* correct place to ask this, there are entire forums devoted to this kind of thing!)
Personally I break contents down to separate keyrings down for things I might want to remove: house keys on one ring, car on another, Leatherman Squirt P4 on another, small metal container with a micro USB stick and some paracetamol on another, photon torch etc, and then clip them all onto a steel spring loaded spring clip from the local marine supply store. When I'm camping the whole lot gets lanyard-clipped to me, the rest of the time it just sits in my pocket.
Every copule of months I get the pockets of my work suit repaired...!
There are some specific things that are a no-no here. E.g. folding lockknives are illegal to carry in public, period. This means that in theory I could be done for having my Leatherman Surge in my pocket, a thought that didn't occur to me until the day I walked through the local DIY superstore with it clipped to my belt whilst spendign the weekend renovating my house. Blades with a length of over 3 inches can't be carried in public - e.g. a Victorinox penknife is OK (so long as it's not a locking type!) but anything bigger than that and you could be charged. As the poster above mentions, there are exemptions for reasonable use - e.g. a chef, a gardener probably has a reason. The defence of "I just might need it" doesn't work though.
I have often thought that if I totted up the amount of time I've spent attempting to plug USB cables in upside down, it would add up to several days of pure frustration. +1 to the asymmetrical design for a new connector..!
well, yes, you can, but you'll be flashing a new ROM to the phone, which isn't without a level of risk. I've done it on my Desire, but it wasn't especially easy, and I may have warranty troubles if something breaks as the original T-Mobile ROM isn't available for download yet to revert to stock. Also HTC have taken extra pains to make it harder to root the phone - it's not quite as easy/supported as you suggest.
to add to this:
Apple: you can only load apps through the app store and we reserve the right to reject for arbitrary reasons
Google: you can sideload apps if you tick the "allow third party sources". You don't necessarily get root if you want to keep your warranty though
Palm: You can sideload and run homebrew
Amen. NetBSD claims that speech dictation is dying, yada yada. Meanwhile, in the real world, digital dictation is being used very day by vast numbers of people. Use a decent headset, spend the time goign through the training, and Dragon is scarily accurate. It's used by law firms, who can't ask Partners to bill for typing up time, and it works well.

Hahaha, name and shame. That's hilarious.
I don't have a soul, you insensitive clod! Someone stole it by taking a picture of me
Very well played, sir.

well yes, but isn't this what the MiFi is for?

I was nodding along right up to the "special patter sheets of paper". Could you elaborate, I'm interested?

to stop you cheaping out and using your iPhone SIM in it for mobile data, when you could be paying for two cell phone data plans?
the problem wtih heatshrink tubing is you always remember it *after* you've soldered your wire...!

I'm just glad that I've got digital ears, so I can listen to music without any A/D conversion. No, wait..
same here. used to get them at least once a wheel, haven't had them in at least 18 months.
