Larry Page, one of the founders of Google, spoke at my college (Stanford) today. I was able to address a question to him. I asked him if Google is moving in the direction of more desktop apps (ala Picasa, Google Earth, Google Talk) and I also mentioned rumors of a possible OS. He basically said that while there is new stuff being planned, he doesn't really know everything that's in the works.
He also said that all the side things at Google (Maps, Froogle, etc.) started off as sort of side projects that engineers did in their time off and then matured to something public (20% time, I believe, is what he used to describe it).
If this is the case, Microsoft probably doesn't have to worry about anything from Google. Of course, Google's innovation knows no bounds (as everyone there went to Stanford =P)
Plus, there are many people who believe in God, that nature is under his control. Some believe the flood came to Sin City, the Big Easy because of the debauchery. When was the last major natural disaster in the bible belt? Many people are taking bets that if San Francisco marries one more homosexual couple, they will fall to the bottom of the ocean and all drown.
I think a lot of Dell's profits come from its deals with colleges and universities. Because they offer discounts to students and faculty, a large portion of them buy Dells.
Apple is doing pretty well in this market too, but their computers are more expensive and a lot of people don't want to switch.
But the demand for reading books on a computer screen is quite low, and printing a book is probably no cheaper than buying it in most cases.
With that sort of cost, it would suck to cross the event Verizon and be pulled into a Cingular-ity.
More like "n33d lft 1ung"
Those roaming charges must be astronomical!
I guess Google didn't forget Poland.

I was going to respond to this, but I tried clicking in the upper right hand corner and the window closed.
Which is why decimal is better.
This has got to be the best place to pick up chicks.
Well...there's approx. 1.25 dollars/euro, so you should have multiplied by 1.25, not divided.
Why would those of us who are Amish care...we don't have rights online.
Oh Noes! A strict constructionist!
TWO linear algebra books? Your laptop bag must not be in reduced row echelon form.
pbj? Is that like some sort of plastic blowjob? Where can I get one?
Hey! I'm also prime! And I think we should replace all H20 with D20!
Dead star, not Deathstar.
You know, most people don't actually have the luxury of choosing where they want to live.
Looks like server suicide to me...
We had to walk 15 miles in the snow to get a virus.
I'm screwed then; I live in Reno.
Yeah,I was reading this a little while ago and it's amazing how prophetic it is.

Everybody does that, right guys? Guys?
Actually, I think there might be some creationists in Australia as well.
I don't trust news from a Yahoo. Now if there were a Houyhnhnm! News, then I'd be interested. But nobody could spell that so it would never catch on.
