I mostly agree with this but when I lead a team of system admins our meetings were very productive. They only took place, at most, twice a year but clear goals/objectives were laid out and I provided the pizza. Other than being out $50 it was useful but no PHB or other sideshows allowed.
Thanks for posting the other gems written by Mr. Stevens. His books were instructive and readable. They were of immense help when I started out as a fledgling UNIX network programmer.
Users of this "vulnerability" are most likely state actors/law enforcement agencies, and 3 letter organizations. They have your computer, they need your password protected data.
I have stayed at a number of hotels in Eastern Europe, central Asia and the middle east where your passport was required at check-in. I assume they scanned it into their system.
I took advantage of the $29 battery replacement on my 6s hoping to add a couple of years of life to it. Might count as a repair since it was sort of "broken" by Apple.
My Sunday morning paper came with two middle sections and no front section. Can I blame the malware for that or should I assume it's the fading newspaper business as a whole?

Amazon is working toward not needing any of them. Most of my Amazon deliveries lately have been by their drivers in white vehicles.
Web pages load okay without all of the crap added to them.

Seems this ship has sailed. I prefer the option of a wired headphone or bluetooth which I have until I replace my current phone.
