    That's incorrect. It's more than likely referring to the speed at which these cameras can process the information they are obtaining.

    While I'm not sure I'll go with Linksys, I am certainly disappointed I picked up a TP Link right before all this came to light. At least I can enjoy knowing that most people only buy TP Link to flash custom firmware and their foolish decision will most likely hurt their bottom line.

    I still don't understand what lead to all this, I highly doubt putting a few more milliwatts out or using a few MHz on either side of the allotted spectrum was causing much (if any) actual harm.

    I think the point in prime time is that that's when the most eyeballs are available. Anything else is just happenstance that marketers have been able to leverage.

    Good TV? Yeah that's a joke. There are good shows out there certainly but television itself is a desolate wasteland.

    AV and Malware protection are desperately needed in the mobile space these days. Though it might not as be self evident since we blithely let apps suck up so much information anyways. Just imagine if software on a desktop tried to gather that much data and ship it off to shady developers and companies, it would be quickly derided as malware and removed.

Now if someone uses that information to break the law then by all means prosecute but let's please stop with the fear monger and simply hold people accountable for their actions not the information they choose to share.

    However, the problem in this case was you only had 9 guesses after which the data is deleted from the phone.

    I recall reading that if you power cycled the phone you reset the try count. I have no idea if that's true or not however.

    Moreover, if the disc requires a live network connection in order to play, it may have unique keys imprinted on it. In order to get a decryption of the movie data, you will have to send your unique key to the server in order to get a working decryption key. Even after decrypting the movie, your unique key is "watermarked" into the video, audio, and likely subtitle tracks too. Now, when this video gets posted to pirate bay, it can be traced back to the IP address that originally requested the decryption key.

    Now, you can try to hook up to the server via TOR or similar, but they will block those kind of attempts... sooner or later they'll start requiring a valid CC number to enable playback - I suppose you can send them stolen ones, but that's going to get messy after awhile.

    One person and the analog hole is all we need.

  21. Adblock plus is literally in the process of destroying the business of online advertising. Whether or not this is a good or bad thing is beside the point; why would a group of advertisers want to have anything to do with them?

    FUD, the only thing they are destroying are intrusive ads.

  22. Modern landfills don't rot. They are quite tightly sealed, layer by layer, for the by products of rot and break down are what cause long term problems. Stuff You Should Know has a great podcast on the subject.

    The system is spread out amongst many different countries in such a way that many different governments must agree to use the back door. If the USA, the Netherlands, and Russia can agree, for example, then it is probably criminal investigation and not spying going on.

Any convenience or cost savings will quickly be whittled away due to the performance of thier employees whether it be fuck ups in fulfilment or boogers on the door handle. They need to become a more professional business altogether online and off for this to work. Who can honestly view themselves typing in walmart.com with a straight face?
