Correlation is not causation. I didn't date any Hispanic girls in between September 11th and today. Did the woeful lack of Hispanic girls in my neighborhood prevent terrorism? Nope. Also note that while the number of terrorist acts in the United States has dropped (Has NOT disappeared...Remember Israel's national airline getting shot up at LAX? Probably not because it received no coverage), international incidences have become more numerous, including Western targets.

The War on Terror(ISM!) is bullshit. You can't have a war on personal ideology, especially when people have successfully perverted a religion in order to justify it. Unless, of course, we stop so strongly supporting Israel and withdraw from the Islamic holy land of Saudi Arabia...and we can't do that...can we?...

What? No. The Canadian dollar has always been worth less than the American dollar, but not because it's a crappier monetary system. That's not how it works at all. It's just a different scale, like Japanese yen or the former Italian lira. I'm pretty sure you were flamebait, but many people have this misconception anyway. It's like saying an inch is "better" than a centimeter because it covers more length.

I wonder who was harmed by Bikes Against Bush? (Bush isn't being harmed because there's no malice involved, just an election.) The stuff washes away, so there's no property damage. There's no strong profanity involved. "It's funny to write nasty words, but that's not what I want to spray on the streets of New York," he said in a Wired article. So. How long until the case is thrown out?

My experience was that if a person wanted to take shitty classes, they were available for the shitty students. My (public) high school had AP English, honors humanities (which qualified as honors college credit), but it also had sports lit. I think that's how most schools are. They don't challenge the morons because it's a waste of money. I'm sure a lot of kids are falling through the cracks, and I think that all students should be challenged early on. But hey, the students are the ones that choose what to take.

(I don't mean to imply that being gay is a disfigurement...also, I don't actually have an amputation.) Pointing out a biological fact/personal choice has nothing to do with what a brilliant man he was.

However, if the article is a biography, it's certainly relevant, as it ended up being a major factor in his ability to continue working in his field and ultimately led to his death.
