Not everyone pays for everything...I would love to play WoW but with no source of income, I can't afford it. You can't make assumptions about someone's situation over the Internet.
A) Release date feb 9, 2005. Shitty thrown together game
Maybe they pulled a Matrix and did both games at the same time, and thats why it took so long to get Halo 2 out the door?
Imagine what a coup that would be...nobody leaked the secret!
Maybe it's "Halo 2.5," that finishes the story (I haven't played it yet, but I'm told there's a clifhanger ending that doesn't really resolve anything). Maybe this will be downloadable instead of a new game.
While it wasn't a text adventure...

...the original You Don't Know Jack! did some pretty funny stuff when you swore at it.
It swore back, and changed your name to "Wanker" or other such things. It also put you into the -$100,000 range. If you did it twice it would call you a child, tell you to go whack off, and come back when you were ready to be a bit more grown up.
So...what if this new 'internet' isn't using the same protocol to communicate as the current one is?
Plus, there's one other thing...imagine this new internet is the same size as our current one...and there is one computer connecting the two...I have a feeling the conncetion would be a bit slow. Can you say 'Slashdotted?'
Why would anyone pay $265 for Halo 2?
1. It's on the Internet if you want it now.
2. If you're that much of a Halo fanatic, you've got Halo 2 preordered. Which means you're garunteed a copy in 4 days at 1/5th of that price.
Is there something I'm missing here?
Games are good. I usually code up a short (9 or 10 room) text adventure...nothing overly complicated, but something that usually can use objects, pointers, functions, i/o...test out a bunch of different features.
Chalk that up to my lack of education...I've never heard of the law of Archimedes, and didn't realize that the North Pole had a landmass beneath...and forgot about glaciers:-\
Hint: If you take 1 cubic centemeter of water, and freeze it, you get *gasp* more than one cubic centemeter of ice!!!
This means that if the ice melted, we'd have more water, but since the ice that was floating in the water was displacing a lot more water than it actually contained, the sea level would probably drop.
Just yesterday I returned some headphones I got at Radio Shack (they were on a big sale when I got them) becasue they broke.
I had purchesed a year's warranty for like $3 even though I hate buying extra warranties simply because I know that headphones (at least for me) have a high chance of breaking.
So instead of dishing out another $40 I got another pair for free...
We'll just forget the fact that the clerk spelled my name wrong (When I say 'k', how do you type 'c') and they had difficulty finding me in the computer...
Not neccesarily. But I can see the validity in the point of "how can we trust them to post unbiased reviews when they are funded by Microsoft"
I don't patronize the site personally, but I could see (in theory) how M$ could say, "well, we see that you're posting this negative stuff about our product, we think we'll pull out those ads..." and if they're counting on those ad dollars for funding, well, it isn't pretty.
This, imho, is one of the greatest weaknesses of the XBox, and part of the reason that it'll be so hard for it to catch up to the Sony / NIntendo console of the moment...
This lack of Japanese publishers making Japanese games is a bigger deal than it seems at first look. Imagine if all of our (I speak for those who live in the US, home of Microsoft and the XBox) games were made by someone from a foreign country, and only a few by Americans...
I wonder how many Zero Wings they have over there.
I don't know what to tell you, other than my uncle is a professional photographer and he uses a Mac. Says it's a dream.

Make a paralell to algebra...that's what I always did.
Allthough you would want the 'select' to add your second shooter on the knoll, as I just realized...
You forgot a 'left-right', and the select is optional...see here
Then I pose a question...if WINE can do it on the fly (as I'm interpreting from the above posts), then why would it take them so long?

Some of the funniest stuff in a game ever, IMHO.

Nice troll, btw.
</sarcasm>
That way it looks just like those good old tags mom used to make!
No, I mean that I said "Kay ell ..." and he punched in "Cl"
That has nothing to do with phonetics.
I use my bag of holding.

...and if you love Marathon as much as CaptMonkey here, don't forget about Marathon:Aleph One.
I haven't checked it out in a while, personally...but I loved Marathon, mostly for the same reasons the good 'ol Capt just talked about.
Yeah really...I hope that AOL can take them down, that way I won't have to do my homework for CS0447 that's due on next Wednesday...
Considering the Beatles won't let their music out in a digital format...I think not.
Wasn't Deer Hunter one of the best selling games of all time?
I'm definitely not putting down HL in any way, I love the game, it should be on there...but Deer Hunter was pretty big.
Can it be adjusted to fit on top of my tinfoil hat?

Yeah, its image manipulated....
I'm sure many people have downloaded both forms of the GIMP over the years, however....
