That would only be true if we all lived in a big geek commune. (Un)fortunately, we've spread to the 4 corners of the known world and can't claim a single zip code as ours.
I've had no problems with any update/patch, with one exception, and it was a doozy: I saw a driver upgrade for USB. After installing it, my keyboard and mouse no longer functioned, which made logging on pretty darn difficult. Now THAT was a major inconveniance!
Lol, exactly. I wish I could picture the 1% (or less) of people who DO buy from telemarketers/pop-up advertisers and thus screw the vast majority of people who don't.
Honestly, how many advertisers who are going to use this type of pop-up ad actually believe it will put the ad viewer in a buying frame of mind? Personally, if this happens to me, I will take care to note what company forced the ad upon me and do everything I can to not purchase products manufactured by them, and let all of my friends and family know that the company is not one to do business with.
It's confusing, but the rules are "it's" means "it is", and "its" is possessive. I.E.:
It's a fine day == It is a fine day. ...I wouldn't plan on using full typing speed on its tiny keys ==...I wouldn't plan on using full typing speed on the device's tiny keys.
I saw that, too, and am hoping that the user without the password only has read-only rights for the db and nothing else. Of course, then you're relying completely on the dbms's security mechanism--better to give a password in addition to read-only rights. But hey, it's refreshing to find someone who truly believes in their backend's security nowadays:)
Light year is a measurement of distance. I think others have stated it elsewhere, but if you haven't seen theres: 1 light year is the distance it takes a photon to travel in one year (in vacuum). Speed of light * year = (? miles/year); so light year = ( ? miles/year) * (1 year/1 year) = ? miles. '?' used cause I'm too lazy to do the conversion for c (speed of light) to miles/year:).

Actually, at one point they mentioned Gentoo as the distribution. Whether or not it was used for all tests/hardware, they didn't say.
Ya just gotta love April Fools:)
Billions of barrels a year, lol... I just hope the oil industry doesn't think this is real and people start to mysteriously disappear!
You sure they own it? Perhaps imdb is simply taking advantage of Amazon's partner program. Which means imdb gets some money, amazon gets some money, and people get some videos and lose some money (well, not really loose, lol).
Of course people who do click on the link and purchase might better be served by a few minutes to comparison shop.
Eco-friendly, modern day smoke signals. Too cool! And speaking of cool, I wonder what users of this technology will do during a snow storm, heavy smog, etc.
I think a daughterboard would be ideal. You would get direct hardware speed, no worries about compatability, etc etc etc. Map the daughterboard's video to a window, allow cut-n-paste, etc etc etc. This would be a very good thing IMO.
Actually, I'm surprised it didn't continue on from the pre-OS X days. Anyone know if there's something like this in the works?
It would be "Rumor has it" and "Rumors have it." My BA in English from the University of Central Florida gives me Federal authority to mangle English spelling and grammar in all Southern States. I is a trained professional.
...and it was months before Jerdie was seen or heard from again. 100 days later, a friend finds Jerdie--hair down to knees, pasty-white skin, and 1000-yard stare--emerge from the house, blinking in wonder at the fiery orb up in the blue, blue sky.:)
It's been a couple of years, but I seem to recall they said MS had informed them that selling the software (even with all manuals/disks/etc, not to mention that fact that I had upgraded and thus wouldn't be using them again) was against the license agreement. Really, really irritating!
Is a Hollywood residence, they need someway to keep the BS at chin-level!

And what are the other 54% running?
How rude!

Someone needs to get a sense of humor, or perhaps a date...
Only those of us who don't have to pay extra for it ;)
Yes, the letter 'E' (English long e) is pronouned as English long a. When a letter 'e' ends a word, it is pronounced more or less 'ah'.

Just saw that they say they're an Amazon company, and whois shows *.amazon.com as DNS servers. You're right, I'm wrong. Hate it when that happens :)

Amazon patents the process of using human-readable names to alias network addresses of computers on the internet.
I'm picking it up tonight on my way home :-)

I've actually had eBay cancel my MS Visual Studio and MS Office 97 auctions, stating it wasn't legal. Nice of M$, isn't it?
