So, you're saying this is a clever move by China to have Australia pay for the exertise required to find the backdoors in the code which Huawei "obtained" from US companies with backdoors inserted by the NSA et al so they can clean it before they use it for their own networks?
Here's an interesig thought - given that there is a high probability of such a backdoor in Cisco equipment, how long until some black hat invests the time needed to find and exploit it. At which point he can hold much of the global network infrastructure to ransom.
What I don't understand is how people can rationalise prison rape as an acceptable part of the punishment, yet not be concerned that the rapist and the victim will be let back into society after their terms are served, and expect them to be well adjusted, upright citizens.
They charge you withsomething. They find no evidence to support the charges. So they troll through your history and keep looking until they find something they can make stick, to show that they were right all along.
I very much agree with your observation. Many people are arguing that the USA would extradite him from the UK if they wanted him.
I would guess that the master plan is to find him guilty in Sweden, keep him in prison for some nominal period (say 6 months), then extradite him upon release. By then, he has lost a lot of support, the media has lost interest and the public will have little sympathy for a "rapist".
I think that is too much of a generalisation. The problem is that phones are often built down to a price. And for a long time build quality was not a selling point since you would throw away the phone after 2 years anyway (or replace it with a newer, fancier one after a year).
My wife still carries a Motorola Pebl, a small clamshell with a strong hinge. This 5 year old phone is still mechanically sound, even after daily (but not heavy, constant) use by someone who is not particularly careful with gadgets.
I can only guess that it is a strawman created and maintained by those benefitting from the status quo. It is also easier to get people to take a position (particularly a negative one) if you frame the whole debate as an all-or-nothing, black and white issue.
I sometimes wonder if some sort of hang glider or paraglider would have been possible 150+ years ago. Not powered flight, but truly controlled flight, yes. And of course there were hot air balloons since 1783.
And what about the phone companies, are they not composed of humans? And their multiplicitous wellbeing (derived from adequate profits) is more important than you the single phone user. In fact, you should be shaken down for all your money NOW. The needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few!
I think you missed the point being made that if you educate yourself a bit about the origins of Christianity (not just the bible stories), you can see that it (and possibly God also) is a fabrication of man.
Thus still believing a bunch of hokum when you know it is made up is wilful ignorance.
Please bear in mind that Microsoft's objective here may not be to become the largest tablet vendor, but to simultaneously start the hype machine running for Win8 Tablet Edition and to provide a benchmark (wish list) for the OEMs to live up to with their own hardware.
A compact Mac, the Plus had a 9-inch 512×342 pixel monochrome display with a resolution of 72 PPI, identical to that of previous Macintosh models. Unlike earlier Macs, the Mac Plus's keyboard included a numeric keypad and directional arrow keys, and, as with previous Macs, it had a one-button mouse and no fan, making it extremely quiet in operation.
"post geek" - Interesting. But in my own case it is more like "too old and too cranky to put up with time-wasting crap any more".
Well, they are still going on about (sorry, "remembering") Daniel Morcombe.
It's like Schnier says, if it was commonplace it wouldn't be on the news.

Brilliant!

Great, that's settled then. From now on, it's pronounced URINE-US.
No mod points, so I'll just compliment you on working in antidisestablishmentarianism. Well done, Sir.

Or how about this one?

Clearly it was for Americans - thus the use of miles.
Motorcycles?

Sure, the mind can cause physical illness, even death.
I've always wished that they could bring back the moa.
A lot of meat on that bird!
And the eggs too! It would be like the Flintstones.
To you that must have been annoying, but to me that sounds FUCKING AWESOME!

on my hip.
Hipster!

My favourite is the Queensland Lungfish.
And here too.

A little like a cargo cult - they try to copy or mimic but do not understand what is really going on.
False. The Macintosh Plus was convection cooled.
