Yes, there is, a lot of DDOS power. A lot of xdcc bots. Script kiddies with zero skills can pull it off.

Hopefully though it doesn't add fuel to the various ??AA organization's fire of declaring IRC a scourge on humanity.

Just because botnets use irc networks as a place of gathering does not mean IRC is a scourage on humanity. ??AA are not even worried about such things, there is no direct relationship between botnets and music/movies.

I would not be surprised if there is at the least 10 times more unique hosts than they found.

But, with a distribution of users phoning, it could create a denial of service if there were enough.

On its own, phoning 911 isnt a denial of service. Writing a worm to get thousands of users to do it is.

2.Lower your price, get as many people as you can to purchase your product

    Repeat 2. a few times.

It makes sense because instead of getting X buyers at your final reduced price (usually as low as possible so that u can still profit), you get X buyers at an average price higher than final price.

Another reason is it is easier to produce less quantity at your release date (economies of scale are reduced after u have to do something like build a whole new factory), and then keep producing more shipments later on.
