US chip giant Intel has introduced a speedy new generation of chips that thwart film piracy and enable quick handling of data-rich video and games.
The second-generation Intel Core processors, referred to as “Sandy Bridge”, have been built into computers big and small, many of which will be displayed at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas.
“This is the best product we’ve ever built,” said Intel chief executive Paul Otellini. “We’ve shifted to processor-based graphics.”
"This is no different than requiring me to 'show my papers.'"
This is ALREADY happening! Flown lately? How about all the ILLEGAL checkpoints happening down in Arizona and Texas where the military is deployed doing police work (in violation of Posse Comitatus) check AMERICAN citizens "papers".

Sure why not. I've seen MANY H1B workers (from India) that have done this sort of thing. We have sent several packing home because of it. They would go out, take code from an open source project and rip out the copyright then put their name to it and try to commit it to our SVN. Fortunately, because we have been burned by this in the past we instituted a "review before commit is allowed" process for ANY "outsource", "H1B", etc.. worker. They can't commit until we have reviewed. We actually take snippets of the code they want to commit and do searches to see if it came from an OSS project. You have to watch people these days.....

Everyone should send emails with subjects like "leaked classified information" with the text encrypted. The encrypted text should say something like "what are you looking for? Some gay child porn for your collection.... Quit invading MY PRIVACY!!!!"

We don't have authorites to make changes on production servers. But we have read/write acess to certain DB's because the apps need to read/write to them. We just have the authority to debug against production to find the problem. If it is an issue in the application, then we make the change locally and then push the app through the normal deployment process. We as developers DO NOT have write/update/delete authority to the file systems only read.
There have been MANY when there were issues that ONLY occured in production where we had to point our local development environments to production databases, servers etc.. to debug the issue. 9 times out of 10 it's an environmental issue. Something an admin changed on a server setting or some person changed data in the database that caused the issue. But without being able to debug against production you wouldn't find it.
Congress should stop mandating crap! Let the free market decide. If a smartphone maker puts and FM tuner in and peopel buy it - great for them. Maybe not everyone wants an FM Tuner in their phone. They should let the PEOPLE decide if they want one or not. Unfortunately our congress critters ONLY CARE ABOUT appeasing their masters - their CORPORATE MASTERS. about the future of MySQL and Java? I think OpenSolaris is just the start. Now with Oracle sueing google over Java I think Oracle is going to one at a time kill off any "free" anything they snatch up. OpenSolaris is first and I think Java will be next by their actions against goolge. They may hold off on MySQL as they need it I think as a low cost alternative on windows to SQL Server (which is a piece of cr@p IMHO - I use it daily with Java and hate it).

If they make you buy support contracts now or have a current warrenty (re: new Sun hardware) to get firmware updates - this will kill people selling used Sun hardware. I bought a used Sun UltraSpark 10 off E-Bay - now I can't get updated firmware for it unless I know give Oracle $$$ for a support contract - something I DON'T need. This is going to hurt those buying/selling used Sun hardware...
I cut off Cable and Satalite and don't even bother with internet TV. It's a waste of time - nothing but GARBAGE anymore. I have better things to do with my time than watch the latest lies and decits and BS comming from the MSM.
