I don't think anyone should be shutdown. FREE SPEECH. Obviously, the standard clauses of you can't yell "Fire!" in a movie theater, make death threats, etc.
This is not an accurate representation of what happened. And now I see that the LibAV team is joining back up with FFMPEG I am concerned, they changed LibAV so much that all the programs that relied on FFMPEG broke when they changed command line parameters, not to make anything better, just because they wanted to do it differently. This is bad news for FFMPEG

But now I mostly us nano for quick edits from the command line and jedit when in xwindows. Jedit while not perfect I like that I can carry my configuration from windows/linux/mac easily. VI is just plain annoying to use the way I think.
That's good because that team screwed Fabrice Bellard over. All of their improvements aren't improvements, it is a pile of rubbish.
I use Gentoo on my server, but on my desktop I use Sabayon as I hate recompiling a desktop. As far as I can tell even though Gentoo which Sabayon is based on has switched, Sabayon is still defaulting to libav,
After the FFMPEG fork is there a Linux distro that still uses FFMPEG & Mplayer? Every disto I see uses avlib and mpv. I have great animosity towards the avlib team, they have caused me much headaches.
By default Gentoo doesn't use FFMPEG, but the craptastic fork avlib. I wish that the developers of avlib many ills for ruining everything with their dman fork.
1/5 is converted to energy, the rest is radiated into the surrounding area just like pavement does, albeit a little less than asphalt. Vegetation, absorbs light and emits heat as well, but it also cools the area via evaporative cooling. What people need to realize is that solar and wind power aren't completely free of environmental downsides. The best solution is to distribute your power generation among all the ways of making power. But honestly the best way to make power is hydroelectric, always has been. The Niagara powerplant provides 1/4 of all New York State's power.
All those black or blue solar panels aren't 100% efficient, while they convert 1/5 of the sun's energy they absorb into electricity, the remaining 4/5 is emitted as heat. It nearly like taking those fields and paving them with asphalt, it is going to heat up the local area. Solar panels make sense on areas that are already black like a roof, but taking large undeveloped areas and installing panels you are just creating a large heat island. Let's not forget the reflections they make in latitudes further north where they are angled such that they reflect light into neighboring homes.

I have used Linux as my primary computer since before RH 5.2 and Solarius in college before that. I just set up a Windows 10 drive on my home computer, and find it to be a decent OS. I use Windows 7 at work and think that 10 is an improvement.
I commonly get asked to program things that already exist, and it seems counter productive to reinvent the wheel. This is not an endorsement of this product, but they provide what you are looking for:

Also if you want to do this yourself, you would want the kml files for congressional districts, they way you can geocode an address and determine which district is is inside. This I have done for other projects.

To better explain, the issue with hydrogen is compressing and cooling a tank to keep hydrogen liquid is very heavy, that is why storing hydrogen in Magnesium hydride is attractive, first because it is non-volatile in that form, and you can store lot without a lot of weight.

Wow! Awesome reply!
And what happens when an 18-wheeler crushes said car?
Really? I suppose this is from people running their cars in their garage? I don't believe it.

Funny thing is that Gnome 2 was pretty good, and ever since it has gotten worse and worse.
At least here on Slashdot they should change the spelling, especially with the American flag icon on the story. ;-)
Netflix ruins me sleep cycles, I really need socks that stop me from watching after 8 PM.

You don't count on the evaporative cooling from the vegitation, which is huge!

Sigh, bleeding heart study stating the opposite http://www.kcet.org/news/redef...
No but a blackbody absorbs more than something green or brown.

Die Systemd! I prefer my log files in text format.

I have been able to edit all this stuff all along. They just changed the look.
