Whatever your coding isn't that urgent that you can't wait to do it later:P
It's a mission-critical system that's going on 12,000 worth of hardware. My boss wouldn't agree with you I'm afraid.
They'd better have the police do it because otherwise someone's going to die. I'd have no problem with sticking a knife in a music industry thug or two.
I doubt many people bother downloading games that just aren't very good. What probably hurts them the most is reviews - most people avoid a game that gets bad ones, even the pirates.
I'm sick of all the bitching about Gmail. All the other freemail providers can do the same, and Google has never done anything against the interests of it's users before.
BTW, I plan on boycotting whoever bought a license.
Well, that would depend whether the company in question knows that they have a Linux licence. Darl may have just sneaked it into a completely different contract again.
And when most of America is unemployed, they will simply rebel against the government and the rich. Anyone that stands in the way of that kind of uprising is going to die.
Did you get legal advice before doing this? You could be completely wrong about it not being a crime.
Even if you did, you are getting so much exposure that you are bound to end up in court. Even in the best of all possible worlds, the legal fees are going to ruin you.
When you are using the touchscreen though you can see where you are pressing and where you are supposed to be pressing. The lack of tactile feedback doesn't really matter then. Even accessability options wouldn't need to be considered in this, since blind people have the visor.
You really think that either the democrats or the republicans are going to destroy the source of income that keeps them in power? Get real. I'm sure the large companies would love to see something like this being used on small companies that can't afford large campaign contributions though.
You would hold back technology. If I have to work in a factory Monday to Friday, I'm not going to have much time to code. Or inclination, since I've been forced to work in a factory rather than as a professional programmer by the open source people.
They would simply use open source software instead. In fact, you could look at it this way: the Chinese government run their tracking software on an OS that's full of bugs and tends to crash at the slightest provocation. Better for the people they are tracking than if they ran it on a nice stable Linux, eh?

Try SuSE 9.1. It's just about as easy to install as Windows is, it works better, and it looks better too!
I set up two dual boot SuSE 9.1 boxes on Friday with no problems too.

You're thinking of a worm. Trojan rely on human stupidity to spread, of which there is an abundance of on P2P networks.
Sales drop when they haven't been releasing a new product? I would never have guessed that!
Well, we did invade their country after all. If someone invaded my country, I'd be out killing soldiers and guards too.

Well, the local beers must be truely awful if they are drinking corona regularly. ;)

Tin-foil hats are standard issue for all slashdot readers. Are you new here? ;)
Why should a company get to tell me how to use something that I've legally bought from them? Once they have sold it to me, it becomes my property.
We are seeing an evolution of comments. Rather than merely failing to RTFA, the poster failed to even read the slashdot headline!
The right in Europe want their own monopolies to succeed, not an American monopoly.

What, it will interfer with companies plaguing me with ads I didn't ask for? Shocking!
Maybe someday Microsoft and the rest will get a clue. There is a reason pop-up blockers are so widely used.
Isn't this what they are aiming for anyway?

I'm not familiar with the project in question, but Swing with such basic widgets isn't a lot of use. How about the likes of a JList or a JTable?

Loss of profit blah blah blah. Campaign contribution... *brown paper envelope rustle*. Laws change.
