  1. Re:Minecraft SUCKS! on Minecraft To Officially Launch 11/11/11 · · Score: 1

Everyone likes their own type of game. You power gaming farmville isn't how you "out class" people. People just like setting up their farm and showing it to others. Doesn't matter that you make more money, have a bigger farm, etc. People just want to build something that is appealing to them. Not my type of game, but there is nothing wrong with that.

WoW is a hugely popular game. You hear complaints because there are a ton of people playing it, and usually the most unreasonable people are the loudest. Most people are too busy enjoying the game to even bother posting. Subscription fees are nothing if you look at what you are getting.

Quite frankly, I know Minecraft isn't a game for me. It is too much like Farmville in that it isn't really a game. I like games that have story or present me with well defined challenges. In this game, you just create your own challenges. Just not my thing.

In any case, I don't think any of the popular games suck, they just aren't my thing. I think people who judge other based on what they play are pretty messed up.

  2. Re:Yet another Wii death pray on Dearth of New Nintendo Games Could Indicate Wii 2 · · Score: 1

They should get a Wii 2 out because the machine is severely underpowered when compared to its competitors. A Wii 2 can take advantage of technological progress and sell a much better system for a cheap price. The Wii has pretty much hit market saturation. Everyone who wants one has one. Those that don't can easily pick one up on the used market. You can milk an almost dead cow for its last bit of sour milk, or you can get an awesome new cow and start milking the sweet profits off of it.

What is wrong with saying Nintendo needs to have a new console? It doesn't make you an anti-fanboy. The only time I was ever not excited about a new console release from my favorite company was when I was a kid and mowed lawns for allowance money. It took me a long time to save up and get a Nintendo, so a Super Nintendo made me upset because I couldn't afford one.

It's time for Nintendo to get out a new console. Take a breath, it doesn't mean it is bad or insulting. The system is just limited now by its processing power. Just think of what Nintendo could do with a better system. Better graphics, bigger worlds, better AI...why would you not want that?

No need to read or comment on an article for a company you hate. No need to hope for natural disasters or nuclear meltdowns that damage their ability to produce products and kill their employees. Only because this is Slashdot can you say this. If someone said the same about Nintendo being unable to ship 3DS's, you would be modded to oblivion. And yes, Nintendo has done some downright awful things as well.

I own both Apple and non-Apple products. Apple does make nice stuff. But you can't be on a tech site and claim Apple is better than all their competitors. You can't tell me Apple's are immune to viruses and crashes. You can't the me the spec on an iPad 2 are better than the Xoom. But most Apple users don't even know what a Xoom is...because all they care about is Apple. You don't see them with other companies nearly as much as you do with Apple.
