The sport isn't in the killing. The sport is in the hunt. The kill is just the end result. The kill is the touchdown of hunting. No one looks at football(American) and says "Scoring a touchdown isn't a sport." That wouldn't make sense. The overall activity is the sport.
Spending days hiking through the great outdoors with buddies and equipment tracking your target over tens of miles of wooded mountains; that is the sport. Scoring a kill is indeed the goal, but it is only the end result of the sport.
You may have installed something that isn't compatible with ACPI. A new driver or device and windows xp automatically removed the suspend option because that one new addition doesn't have proper suspend abilites.

Definitely not on the hyperthreaded system. Hyperthreading is only useful is you have 2 or more low demand threads. The benefit of hyperthreading disappears when 1 process needs 99% of the cpu, like many games. This can even be deterimental as your game will never be able to use the entire processor.

The nice thing about the GPL not holding up in court is that all code released under the GPL will not become part of the public domain. Therefore any company trying to profit from GPL code cannot claim the GPL is invalid and use the code. The GPL is the only thing that makes the code legal to distribute.
DiabloII and Counterstrike are definitely two ancient games that are still cranking out huge numbers of players after being released so long ago. But comparing WoW to Diablo2 is a bit flawed because it's free to play d2. I can just log in and start up a new character on a whim. WoW constantly bills players and when it's time for a player to quit there is no going back without a commitment.
Have you seen how much hair is in your hairbrush? How would you feel if your hairbrush was stolen and six weeks later your convicted of murder because your hair was found at the scene?
Faking DNA evidence is trivial compared to creating a fake fingerprint.
You can be sued at any time for anything costing you money in legal fees. You will(should) only lose if you did break a law but even if you win you still need to pay to defend yourself.
Speaking of UPS's, give your sump pump priority over keeping your servers running.
Just wanted to bold that up. Muad'Dave makes a great point. If something has cut the power to your house there is a good chance it is related to bad weather which also means a good chance your basement could flood. (And don't think it will not happen just because it hasn't yet, better safe than sorry.)
This isn't completely true. You have to at least know what is going on to understand The Daily Show. Fox/CNN are a prerequisite of sorts for many of The Daily Show's jokes.
My roommates bought the game, crashes and freezes on his ati card. Forums are saying it is happening quite a bit on ati cards. Seems like the developers didn't take into account half the video card market.
We have climate data from ice cores drilled into miles of ice in the ice sheets covering Greenland and Antarctica. This data goes back hundreds of thousands of years. The method uses stable isotopes Oxygen-16 and Oxygen-18. Using the ratios of those two isotopes a scientist can determine climate as old as the ice he is sampling.
While you are right about the bombing of japan being a precursor to occupation that nation was not bombed in anger. It was bombed as an alternative to full scale invasion against a population ready for hand to hand combat if it came down to that.
I agree. I was expecting an interview and not a debate. I was let down when Rob made the firefox comment. It really changed the mood of the interview for me.
I saw something about this on I think the Discovery channel. The remote vehicle got to what seemed to be a sealed doorway and could go no farther. Kind of a let down after an hour of watching. Would have been much better if they just let a rat go into the tunnel, then put a cat with a camera in after it.
I kinda find your example here funny. My father builds houses for a living and has actually started using construction glue for many things instead of nails. (he still uses finishing nails to tack the stuff he is gluing so it stays in place, but the glue is actually what is holding it together aftwards.) I know that has nothing to do with your point, but the glue does work better for holding together decks and outside stairs that have the problem of warping and forcing the nails loose.
Can the UK government own copyright? I think in the US the government's works are owned by the people and automatically in public domain. Of course I have no clue about the UK because i live in the US but whatever.
I recall some international body building event years ago banned steriod use. What ended up happening was that the spectator complained that the contestants sucked. So the next year steroids were allowed again and all the bigger guys entered again.
There is no difference. It is just that tolls and fines are discriminitory taxes. Only people who drive on the motorway have to pay that tax and only people who violate an ordinace pay a fine. You pay income tax to the government only if you declare income. And you pay this computer tax only if you buy a computer.
Just like the gas tax. Only people that drive a car on the road pay it. Gas for boats is not taxed. At least that is how the gas tax works in America.

I think all racism is subjective... If it was objective it wouldn't be racism it would be truth.
CSI: Buffalo - Funniest joke in the entire thread.
If Picard was in the nexus wouldn't it be a pleasant dream instead of the horrifying nightmare that Enterprise is?
