Ok I'm not a lawyer, but signing a document like this as "Very Truly Yours" seems unprofessional. Well actually, the entire document seems rather unprofessional and poorly done.
However after googling a bit I did find some info, I think.
some children became addicted to video games, spending all their waking hours in front of a computer screen gorging potato chips, pizza and soft drinks.
I don't suppose their parents could be partly to blame, just a little?
"But it has been proved beyond dispute that people who watch a lot of violence on television develop aggressive behavior,"
That's quite a generalization, one that's used all too often. Just blame it on a game or tv, etc. It's easier that way.
According to the interview, it may have been the ink. Apparently some ink tested for an apollo mission caused a big stink similar to what the soviets described:
"...back in the Apollo days, the sniffers smelt some ink that blistered their noses. After Apollo 13 was brought back to Earth, they had to reprint a lot of the instructions for experiments..."
I wonder if they're looking to possibly lisence GTA4 exclusively with one of the new consoles such as PS3 or Xbox2. I mean, it would be a huge deal. There's sooo many people who would purchase that new console just to play that game. I'm sure either Sony or Microsoft could make it worth it for Rockstar to sign such a deal, if they haven't already.
I don't really get a warm fuzzy feeling of confidence after seeing things like this:
"At ZeroC we used Java because some of our development staff had little prior C++ experience..."
"...however, a few of us had previously built a commercial object request broker..."
"...designing and implementing middleware is difficult and costly, even with many years of experience. If you are looking for middleware, chances are that you will be better off buying it than building it."
Frankly, I'd feel rather uncomfortable using ICE 1.0 as middleware for my new MMORPG. Yes they could succeed and do a nice job, but that rarely happens especially in the world of MMOs where nearly all games are released way too early in beta form.
Gamers will buy linux native games, but only if they can get better performance than they do using windows or winex. It all comes down to performance. Right now I just run games in windows. It's brainlessly easy to install and setup games and they run just fine. The only way I'd switch is if I get a nice performance increase in Linux. For now I'll just keep dual booting.
The benefits of a space elevator would be monumental. It would allow us to build huge space stations for large scale experiments. More scientists doing research there = more advancements in so many different scientific fields. It's an investment though, you won't see instant results, but well worth it. Simply look at the results of space programs around the world.
What about the thoughts you "really" don't need everyone else to know hear though. Somehow it needs to determine what to transmit and what not to. Even if it is controlled by you thinking, 'say this or that', what if you're thinking of saying it but don't really want to. This is getting confusing.
You could imagine thinking about talking and having it projected into a room 2,000 miles away," says Craig Henriquez. "I don't see that that will be a problem. It's very, very possible."

I bet this case alone would see for over 1500 on ebay, easily. There's plenty of rich trekky geeks out there with enough cash;) me being the type without that kind of cash:(
I thought it was supposed to be HD based, but turns out it's flash according to the article.
I certainly don't believe that this guy hasn't broken anything in years though...
Posing as clients, we ascertained that in 49 out of the 70 PCs installed, prohibited video games were being played such as 'rally', 'football' and 'war games'," said the policeman leading the raid in his written deposition.
What do these have to do with illegal gambling? This just doesn't make sence.
There's a big difference between people who can for example, set up any kind of network, or know how to program in C++ well. And people who can really think on their own, learn new things because the really "want" to learn, and don't just follow orders.
What you get from a 4 year university is that they're supposed to make and encourage you to think. That's why you had to take those history, art, writing, etc courses that may not be "programming" courses. Just a couple days ago there was an article on slashdot about linguistics and programming. ok I"m rambling but you get my point...maybe not.
I did manage to get the 18 meg video off the site early on. I must say, I'm rather confused. Basically there's these hampsters. They just move around as they please it seems, or scratch themselves. I "really" don't understand how the music seems to be about the same while the hampsters seem to be going about doing their own thing. If anything, it appears that they have very little impact on the music.
I wonder if instead of developing some kind of complex warrior robot, instead they would rather turn human soldiers into robots? They already have most of the programming done, and the most powerful computer on earth (brain). They're talking about interfaces between the brain and a binary computer, less downtime etc. If we can make them stronger, add armor and bigger guns...well...there ya go.
I don't quite understand how they just assume these are russian parts floating away? I certainly would find it a bit disturbing whatever it was though...
maybe they should have used duct tape?
I'll play an arcade game really only if it's something I haven't played before. I think the last game I tried (probably at least a year ago) involved standing on a skateboard that moved around. It was quite good, but not something I"ll really do again. At least it got my money right? DDR is also another innovate game.
What's similar between these? The special need for very specific hardware, whether it be a dance floor or skateboard. These are generally far too expensive for the home gamer. (isn't there a mech game that needs a $200 controller?)
In my opinion, what arcades have that should be utilized more are control setups that help immerse gamers. I would love a great mech simulation with 3 or 4 screen, full on force feedback controls and seats. etc.
A pocket pc with a keyboard, such as from targus has worked great for me. Laptops get stolen, they're an extra bag to carry, take time to boot, and more.
With my pocket pc I just hit the power button, stick it on the keyboard and go. So much smaller too, battry life is fine. Plus I can get another battery for my Dell Axim X3i (which also has WiFi).
You wouldn't neccesarily need 8 chips. I really doubt that they're at the absolute limit of how many layers per chip. It's the same thing as HD density. Pack in more layers, as long as you can focus your lasers onto them and you can greatly increase capacity.
It would probably also be possible to fit multiple chips onto one card. So maybe 8 1gb chips on a card might be viable also.
It seems a little odd to me that they go from selling some items in the $10-$200 range, and then 1M+ Jets?
This is the closest thing to an airplane I saw in their history: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item =3254134304&category=4037

Yes, now you can wear your loved one on your finger, or pawn them off!
I believe the biggest thing going for it is the pure potential for new game concepts. I mean, when was the last time you played a game that was very new in design and concept? Something that you've never done before.
So it would seem to me the new design is really there to drive new ideas in gaming. Who knows, it may even spark a revolution in pc gaming with 2 monitors? (although that's a stretch of imagination)
This should encourage musicians to create new styles and music as well as create more compositions. Sure a computer can play it as well as it's been programmed, but it can't compose a masterpiece...can it? yet...
You can't handle the licencing fees for the truth!

James Aker seems to be a real lawyer at least.
He seems to do Litigation, Employment law, construction, and personal injury. Not really specilized it seems.

Anything that goes inside the capsule. We do things like paints, magic markers, ink, fabrics, epoxies.
Paint and magic markers eh... Just how much of this does he do? Can't be healthy that's for sure.
