A lot of the cakes and liqours here have things in them you wouldn't dream about. These things you cannot buy in America, so we have to bring them ourselves.
Either I've been smoking too much crack or my memory is shot, because I'm pretty sure I've been required to do that every single time I've flown to America (to visit family, first time was in 1999). I have a Danish passport and usually fly via Iceland, with Icelandair, but have also flown via the UK.
There's the usual "I will not commit terrorist acts" but also a section where you list who you will be staying with.
In 2002, I didn't have my cousin's then NY address handy, so I made one up. Good thing they didn't check up on it.
Funny story: On one trip, I had a present with me for a wedding, and had to take a national connecting flight from Boston to Baltimore. They had these things where they check for various trace chemicals that would indicate explosives. It of course went off five times on my suitcase, so the guy had it opened and went through it, item by item.
Finally he got to the present, a bottle of Gammel Dansk (a bitter alcohol), which was wrapped. He asked me what was in it, I told him. He then asked me if I had spent time near or on a farm previous to my flight, all the questions that would explain why I had trace chemicals on my luggage, but there was no apparent reason. He eventually let me go, when I started commentingthat I had to catch the connecting flight.
During the carry-on check, I realized I had a box-cutter in my pencil-case. There were also a couple of blades that were just floating around in there along with the pencils & pens. As the guy was rummaging through literally everything, including the pencil-case, I gotta admit I got a bit nervous that he would cut himself. He didn't find it, though. So much for thoroughness, heh.
My aunt was less lucky. She had her knitting pins confiscated and they almost ruined the cake she was bringing for the wedding.
Services like these have popped up in Denmark during the last 5 or so years. They might have been there before, but I didn't pay much attention to cellphones until recently (only had one for about 18 months).
The one I use is fairly cheap by Danish standards (0.80 DKK per minute, 0.20 DKK per SMS), so with my usage it comes to around 200 DKK (~35 USD) per 50 days.
Ah, I wasn't aware that it did that. I think the first time I tried the www was in 1994 or 1995, and that was mostly for downloading quenya dictionaries and chatting with random people on alamak.com (wow, still running, that's pretty cool).
I think there's a slight difference between actually putting html rendering capabilities on the desktop & in the file browser as opposed to just providing a rendering engine.
That's not entirely true. It might be different now, as I've lost touch somewhat with the goings on of the "underworld" but it wasn't like that in the old days.
I know a lot of guys who were big in the amiga scene some ten to fifteen years ago, and they all have pretty well-functioning social lives. One of them now works for a major computer game developer, others are completing various educations (and not necessarily comp.sci).
It could be that the windows commandline does not support backslashes before lineshifts as a way of continuing the line. Try removing both, so it's one long line with no backslashes.
I just re-tested it and it still works for me.
To the other AC: I'm sorry, I can't get anything from the fullscreen.mov, they might have fiddled with the settings. That said, the one I posted is rather nice quality.

This works if your browser doesn't insert spaces after each line. Otherwise you'll have to remove them by hand. If I remember correctly it's a couple hundred megs.
Huh? Their DRM was cracked in no time. Not releasing the code did nothing for them. So why can't they release specs for iTMS so all platforms can use the service? Being able to to purchase/download from iTMS isn't going to break their poor "FairPlay".
RIAA would never let Apple sell music from the labels in that organization if they opened the specs. That's pretty simple.
Apple is basically letting people crack the DRM, then they "stop" them by making amazingly simple changes to iTunes in order to satisfy RIAA.
I have nothing against communists, but seeing as your slashdot nick is "Internet_Communist" I don't find it surprising that you don't like a capitalist company. Why do you even bother spending so much time on this? Honest question, genuinely interested.
I'm having the same problem (10.3.6), I don't remember if it was there earlier, as I hardly ever use the calculator (it's usually quicker to just put the formula in the google field in Safari).

It's a form, so unless you write out "umm" it's not gonna help a lot. :)
I know all about it, see my post elsewhere in this story for the silliness of it all.
False sense of security indeed.
You might be joking, but this was also going on before 9/11.

This exploit uses a flaw in Google's code that allows viewing of memory on Google's servers. Hardly an inherent flaw in email as such.
Well, more robots, of course! An endless line of robots cleaning up filth and excreting it out their back end. What a glorious future!
Mariner Calc is a pretty good native spreadsheet app. It even opens Excel files to ease the transition. Costs 50 bucks.
That looks a bit like this:

Is there any particular reason for using a huge shell script and wget?
Seconded. I think the OP just made my G3/350 cry a little bit. Hell, it even plays Unreal Tournament (the original).

What I was trying to say was that I don't see where the file browser/desktop/etc has any use for html rendering.

The "biggest story of the new year" refers to Titan, not Iapetus.

Anyone have any ideas?
I think that is just a symptom of the dumbing down of culture today. Even laws need cute names now. It makes me sad.
I'm interested in learning how the robot will help anyone avoid old age. Maybe it kills them?
