I agree completely, we should buy all our games, notice how I mentioned I was buying all my titles? I just felt the ease of piracy is one of the main reason for Sony's harware sales dominance. Call me devil's advocate.

  2. Biggest N64 / Gamecube Mistake on Nintendo Learns from Mistakes with GameCube · · Score: 0

IMHO was not using a game storage format you can easily copy with common PC hardware. While I had nintendo consoles, and paid for all my titles, all my friends bought Sony consoles, put on an eye patch and cried "arrrggghh mateyy!"

Wii has another strange storage format, so I rekon they havent learnt from thier biggest mistake with the Gamecube / N64.

Even DURING the rise of the NES everyone I knew that had already got themselves C64s or another 8 bit home computer was happy with that system for gaming, and was therefore not interested in getting a NES too.

The C64 for example had some fine arcade style games, that were more than enough for an arcade fix when you didnt have enough money for a day at the arcades.

$114.99 AUD for "Harry Potter and the order of the pheonix"? I bought the big hardback version of the book for $24 AUD at K-Mart. Oh and only $434 AUD for the whole set! I understand that they are long files, and audiobook on cassette or cd is a big box of media, but WE have to pay for the bandwidth to download these big files, and in Australia we have small download limits because of our monopolised Communications Industry. Some plans here have .14c per MB downloads.

  19. DYI: double your floppy capacity on Dell Dropping The Floppy · · Score: 1

How to double you floppy capacity, a do-it-yourself guide: 1. Ok, *gently* squeeze open the plastic casing of your new floppy disk. If you have difficulty doing this you can start the process off with a hobby knife. 2. Be careful to collect all the springs and sleeves that might fall out, you might need these later ;) 3. See that round black disc inside, that's where the data is stored...remove this and open another floppy. 4. Right, now this is the easy bit, simply place the round disc from the other floppy on top of the disc in the second, newly opened, floppy. 5. Now re-assemble this second floppy, making sure to replace any of those springs and things that popped out. You can discard the first floppy casing. If you have trouble re-sealing the casing any old plastic or hobby glue might help. I find the standard 'super glue' products do the job quite nicely. Dont use sticky tape, it simply will not do! 6. *Presto*, your floppy now (theoretically) has twice the storage media capacity. Disclaimer: No responsiblity is taken by the author, try this at your own risk. You may damage your floppy drive, or (in some rare cases) even loose data!
