Since that was on the DVD-extras for FOTR at least, and that DVD is one of the best-selling DVD:s of all time, I think it's a safe bet that some of us have heard the story before, yes;)
I (== the company i work in) use it, and it broke here too, wont start anymore. Hopefully Checkpoint will release a fix soon, now I actually have to go the office to get some work done:-P
tpu.fi is a school, im feeling more sorry for the student who put those pics on his homepage, i bet he's having a nice chat with their admin right about now;-)

So why dont you buy one then: http://www.apple.com/isync/devices.html
My last 3 cellphones have talked happily with my Mac. Syncing, sending files, sending sms with the computer, using it as a modem etc "just works"..
Go to the nearest computer store and buy a mouse for $10. OS X supports mice with many buttons very nicely, and button2 does what you wuold expect most of the time as an old windows-user. Dunno why Apple still insists on shipping mice with only one button with their computers, but normal USB-mice work nicely with a Mac. It's the first thing I change when getting a new Mac, get rid of the one-button-mouse.
From the documentation: "Portage installs things in / and could possibly overwrite important packages that were installed by OS X. Use this technology at your own risk!".
I think I'll stick to fink for now, they could at least have used/usr/local and not mess with /:-/
Exactly! I read the title and thought "finally, about damn time", and then it's only 3 countries of the ~45 countries in Europe.
Somebody mod the parent up.
Because I don't *need* 11GB more storage, that's what most people here seem to be missing. 4GB is more than enough for a portable music player that I'm going to use mostly on my way to work etc.
I appreciate the smaller size much more than the extra 11GB I'm going to have trouble filling anyway. That it's cheaper is just an added bonus.
Yes they are elected, and at least here in Finland people seem to vote for the most annoying politicians to become MEP:s, so they get rid of them for 4 years;-)
(The European Parliament is in Brussels, long way from Finland)
Actually UIQ is the default GUI for Symbian and is made by Symbian itself. It's Nokia who isn't using the standard GUI but has slapped it's own GUI (Series60) on top of Symbian.
Of course now that Nokia owns the majority of Symbian I wouldn't be surprised if they tried to push their own GUI instead of UIQ. Which would generally suck, because I think UIQ is superior too (had a P800).
Works fine for me, both against linux samba boxes, and windows boxes. Sometimes the "browse the network" feature has a bit trouble seing all the machines, but "connect to server" saves the day.

iD released a win32/OpenGL version of quake as unsupported, though free, software a couple of years after the original, called GLQuake.
Overall, monthly subscriptions are generally between $30 and $50, but run as high as $165.89 in Finland, the report said. The average U.S. cost was $53.
Where in the hell have they been doing their research? Not in Finland, that's for sure. The average price for an ADSL 512/512Kbps is about 50euros/month here in Finland, and I have a 10Mbps (capped upstrem though) cable for 45euros/month.
Umm, if you would have actually bothered to read the page you would have noticed that the dates on the front page are in the ad for Assembly. The Party takes place in December, always has.

Long live the apple forums, there's a fix for this problem.

On a related note, the european version of wow opened today, see http://wow-europe.com/en/.
Everything went smoothly when i registered in the morning, but i hear the servers are totally bogged down now, especially the registration-server.

You probably mean VLC? And yes, its the best mediaplayer for OS X, use it all the time :)
Get a blue ipod mini ;-)
Writing this with a Powerbook that has a USB-mouse attached, works just as fine ;-)
Of course if you are on the road somewhere it might be a bit hard sometimes to find a surface to use the mouse on..

God damn it, I was going to buy one next week, but no, thanks to you I'm going to have to wait until July, thank you very very much!
;-)
Would you please stop hogging them so that we could get at least a couple over here in Europe too
PHP5 had namespace-support at one point in the development cycle. It was later dropped, dunno why.
SonyEricsson also introduced a 1.3Mpix phone a couple of weeks ago, the s700. (Warning, horrible flash-contraption)

Well "nu" is a word in Swedish, meaning "now", so it's easy to see why companies like it, "cars.now" would be a nice domain for any cardealership.
