Well, as an OS X user since 10.0.3 I'd have to say you're comparing apples to oranges. 10 to 10.1 was primarily bug fixes but was only $19.95 if you couldn't find it for free. And 10.1 to 10.2 wasn't all that big of deal, either. 10.2 to 10.3 was the only jump where I thought I got some value out of the money I paid for the release.
Plus, at least MS is still putting out patches for Win 2000. You can't get security patches from Apple for 10.1 which is much younger than Win 2000.
Damn, I didn't realize ACs were so dense. I'll guarantee there will be no black iPod without the U2 content unless you buy a used one from someone who has removed the U2 stuff. It's a U2 promo, U2 = black iPod, Black iPod = U2. I know what the original person was saying, if he wants the black iPod he's going to have to pay extra for the U2 content.
We're only talking about one item so when he asks "Will the price be higher?" I take that as meaning "Will the price of the one and only black iPod that includes U2 content be higher than the current iPod?". I have a good feeling it will be more expensive.

I work at a TV station and every day at 5:15 some stupid ass thump thumper drives by and the whole newsroom shakes. And the street is 2 walls and 40 yards from the newsroom. During construction of our new news set (which is many walls away from the street and well soundproofed) all news was done from the newsroom and you could hear it on the newscasts.
I concur. OpenBSD runs on several more platforms than mentioned and it's done SMP for at least a release. And the comments about Theo are pretty exagerated and inflammatory.

Like the parent says, they use OpenFirmware (which is a fully programmable Forth environment) now instead of a closed ROM. Nobody is arguing that Apple is no longer using ROM, they're just saying that they're no longer using the closed Mac ROM.
