not forbidden, but looks like it may be:
" In concluding, I would like to stress that efforts to achieve a ban on the weaponization of outer space must continue so as to protect the space assets of all nations in the interests of international peace and security."
"Large, high-density recording capacity of 50GB or more on one side of a 12 cm disc."
Wow-thats awesome for a single side of a disk. Though I wish removable disks could reach the capacity of hard disks, would be nice to use something like norton ghost or similar, and put everything on ONE disk, and store it somewhere.
Gotta love DARPA. They brought us stealth technology, GPS, and ofcourse the Internet! It's good to see them promote some technology within the country. Seems like since the 80's (?) everything with a plug or batteries has come from elsewhere
looking at their downloads page it seems that they dont have the source listed, only iso's and HMC Filters for Windows. Unless someone else sees a link for the source?
As much bashing as MS gets, computers wouldn't be as cheap as they are today, without MS making it possible for joe 6 pack to operate one. Same thing counts for AOL, ppl love to bash them (mostly their users i guess) but if it weren't for them, the internet would be as popular-and before someone says that's a good thing, less spam, etc, there would also be MUCH less content out there too. Let's not forget that MS has done some good for computer users, maybe not computer users USING their software. Remember, with competition, everyone wins!
Thats actually not too bad of an idea. I know lots of times I'll be watching TV, see something interesting, and then head over to the computer to find out more about it. What would be really cool, if we could pick what type of commercials we want to view. God knows I don't need to see that damn tampax sinking boat commercial one more time! Not a crazy idea, think how well sites like adcritic.com did.

"GreyMagic started work on this issue with Microsoft on 11-Mar-2004. They have quickly confirmed our findings and were able to produce a fix less than two days later. As a result, Hotmail is no longer vulnerable to this method of exploitation.
All attempts to contact Yahoo unfortunately failed. Mail was sent to security and secure at yahoo.com and at yahoo-inc.com, no replies were received to date."
Now thats weird. Microsoft fixing something before its truely made public!:)
"The Electronic Paper Display is reflective and can be easily read in bright sunlight or dimly lit environments while being able to be seen at virtually any angle - just like paper."
by far, thats my biggest complaint with handhelds (palms, etc). The screens are so hard to read in the daylight. Infact, the black and white palms seem easier to read in the day light than the color screens. Also, phillips rollable display Amazing!
I suppose this will get modded as a flame bit, but a lot of people were cheering when Bill Gate's credit card number got stolen just wondering how those people felt now? I know there was no "real" damage in that case, and in this case the server was offline, but still something to consider. Maybe these people were also "trying to help" by showing a server insecurity.
This really aren't new. I mean, they're new to most of the world, but there ARE alternative root servers people can use. Check out open rsc.org they tell you how to change your name server. There was also an article at wired a few years ago that talked about the.biz not really being a new domain..biz was being used on orsc, and then icann started to use it after orsc. Anyway, just don't think you don't have options.
finally some accessories for my oak c cube for work, and wooden case at home!
seriously though, look at the the review of a couple of wood cases, some of the pre-made ones are pretty slick!
Doesn't mention the battery life, but with the price of flash cards decreasing, it seems like all the things this can do could be done by a Palm Tungsten|E. I know there aren't 20gig MMC/SD cards yet, but something to consider. Again, depending on the battery life, I've heard palms don't come close to MP3 Players with regards to battery life.
How stupid can you be? In the article, it says he stole the credit card numbers to prove how insecure things were. If that wasn't enough, he emailed the info to NBCi. Why do these people think that they're the "good guys" when they do this?
That's mean! Slashdot a PIZZA companies server, on a FRIDAY night!!
they're also gonna announce new ibooks, and powerbooks, or so it's rumored for tommorow

TechTV has a summary of all the teams, as well as some streaming video.

The grill is still up at think geeks website
"Sharp has also incorporated a sliding thumb keyboard into this model."
Didnt all the 5x00 series have the same type of keyboard?
they have HAL, Robot, and Mr. Roboto, but where, where the heck is Johnny Five!?
but, will it have star wars kid in it?:)

Nerd 1: "Now you can download porn 500 times faster"
Marge: "Does anyone need that much porn?"
Homer: (drooling) "aghghghghghgh 500 times faster"

No need to make jokes here, they already have an official mascot in the links above. Did you look at it? It's much more scary than the one you posted!
