    That's because its up to the merchant to verify the (current) cardholder is the actual owner of the card. If in doubt with the signature - they are to check an ID. If no ID is provided, they are to ask the consumer to call the bank on the card and verify it is them. Of course, nobody does this - but after a few times a mom-and-pop shop gets "pwned" they will. This is likely all in the agreement when you get the sticker that says "mastercard" on your shops doorfront.

    I would say, if anything, it provides them of a way to see what shows are successful (Maybe it's not a fair test, more of a computer geek statistic). But the music industry has used the songs that have been popular in downloads (illegal&legal) to inform them on what the people want.

    You need to get the Gcache extention for FireFox It lets you right click on a link, and open a Google Cache of whatever you right-clicked on.

    Exactly - they're also breaking consistancy in Windows. They have the file menu on the upper right corner instead of the left, like almost every windows app out there.

    There are two ways to see if you've been sent illegal spam: Check for misleading subject lines that are intended to trick people into opening them. Look for a Web page to submit contact information.
    Does all this damn V 1 A G R A email count as misleading? I think every spam message I get has some way to try and trick my filters.

    I really like PokerRoom It's linux friendly, and really has one of the nicest interfaces. You can play for money later if you want. There is also ofcourse Yahoo! games but I find it's ugly, and they only offer texas holdem.

    Though I do agree, spyware should be illegal, most of the spyware is mentioned in the EULA. Check out: Is kazaa spyware?
    where they quote the EULA agreement stating:
    We may add, delete or change some or all of the Software's functionality provided in connection with KaZaA at any time. This may include download of necessary software modules. Any new features that augment or enhance
    Like the web page suggests, thats "pretty open-ended."
    Fact is, most people (>99% imho) DONT read the EULA!

    but, as soon as you get a bad download, you erase it, so people dont spread them. If you search for a song using say gtk-gnutella, just download the file that has the most sources. It's highly unlikely that 80+ people will have a bogus song under the file you're looking for. We're in trouble if they start sharing on multiple IP's though...
