Most pools that have lifeguards (at least that I've been to) don't let you do that anyway. It's against their rules. If you really want to do it buy yourself your own pool - you never had any right/freedom to do that in the first place.
after my experience with Windows Media Player on the Mac, I can only hope that the Windows version is VASTLY superior.
Windows Media Player for Windows IS vastly superior to the Mac version, just like IE. While it definitely isn't the best Windows player I tend to use it the most just because it's easy and it has so many plugins. It's good enough for almost everyone. Same with IE - on windows it is good enough for most people, but not the best. On Macs, it's terrible.
I don't understand the correlation between a large amount of Linux dedicated servers and a large amount of would-be Linux players.
Linux is a server OS. Wouldn't that make it a GREAT choice for running a dedicated server? Besides, most people that would run a dedicated server for the game are the same people that own and enjoy the game already. I know I wouldn't run my dedicated server if I stopped playing Half-Life.
There will most likely never be a Mac version. Valve has stated many a time that it is simply not part of their plans to port to Mac or Linux (although they don't mind WineX at all, and in fact fixed their anti-cheat when it was found to be incompatable with Wine).
What the hell are you talking about? You buy Half-Life in the store. You install it, and use Steam to play online. Steam is FREE. There will be an optional monthly fee. You pay this fee, and you get any games that Valve releases, including HL2 and TF2 and any other games they release over Steam.
Please don't spread lies about a monthly fee, really.
98 did actually offer many graphical improvements and improvements to many parts of the OS. More stable as in not crashing every day or so which even housewives and gamers care about. Better USB and networking support were added as well, which back then may have not been significant but now is very much so. ME is something we'd all like to forget.
AOL is slowly bringing the two together. AOL and ICQ users can message each other and go in chats together. Ever notice how in GAIM "AIM" and "ICQ" have the same account type?

You're obviously exaggerating. While anecdotal evidence doesn't mean much, I've seen popcorn for 2 dollars, all the way up to 6.50. 5 isn't the magic number, it is just a nice round one.
By that same token, I've noticed some theaters charge 5.50 for tickets, and some up to 9.50... yet the ones with the higher ticket prices also charge the most for popcorn.
Finally, what's with measuring compile times? How is that a fair way of measuring performance? Hey, look, my distcc + ccache + lots of CPUs system with gcc3.2 can compile stuff faster than your single CPU gcc2 system... It's like comparing chalk and oranges
Except in this case they all had the same hardware on each machine...
According to the article, they use Universal Plug and Play to detect other gamecubes on the network. This is hard to route over the internet, but if they figure out a way to do it I don't think there is anything stopping them from releasing it.
The dreamcast is very attractive to homebrew on due to being able to play burned games without a modchip. It has also been around for a long time, so there is a big community around it.
I feel the same way. I watched the first 9 episodes of the drama before I had seen any of the anime. I was really excited about finally seeing it, since my otaku friend said it was better than the drama. I was... severely disappointed, to say the least. I'm going to keep watching it though, there ARE some advantages to being animated (more stylized characters, easier to identify with the original manga).
What about downloaded, fansubbed, episodes - particularly of a series that is already liscenced for distrobution in the US. That is at least "grey area".

As this site has appeared on www.slashdot.org and is experiencing slightly increased traffic I would like to add a few extra comments...

The number is a "googol". "Google" is the name of the search engine.

Windows Media Player is the only one of those that's made by Microsoft...
I am not much of a Linux guy, but aren't those just display drivers that communicate with X? How does that effect compiling time/loading time?
Except in this case they all had the same hardware on each machine...
The Wonderswan is doing just fine in Japan (well, the color one at least)
What about the CPL, whose main game is Counter-Strike, a Half-Life mod?
The Quake IV engine is the same as the DoomIII engine. Likely singleplayer/coop mods would appear on Doom and larger-scale multiplayer on Quake.

To make it visible to others who browse with high thresholds. Modding isn't in place to give karma, you know...

Any sane person would be running OS X :)
ps: Your post is so trolling it's appalling
My warranty has expired and my harddrive has stopped spinning - I think I am going to follow this guide while installing a new one.
Actually, it HAS been a slashdot story :)
