I would just like to say how much you rock. For as many times as I have thought of using this Monty Python bit.......not once could I piece together something intelligible which stood true to the joke. Bravo, would that I had mod points for ya.
Which is why you would set the ratio such that a slight movement of the head equalled a much larger movement of the screen. Similar to how you don't have to move the mouse the full distance of your screen to move the cursor from one side to another.
So, I'm curious about what their terms are like. Are they going to be like the cable companies and start kicking anybody who "is using an excessive amount of bandwidth", without defining 'excessive'?
Am I going to be able to pay the 30/month and transfer data upstream AND downstream 24/7? Or am I going to pay 30/month and be bitched at and disconnected after I download a couple gigs?
And you'll never get this, at least not in the immediate future. Sorry, but you are by FAR in the minority. The market for such a service is simply not large enough to encourage investors to open their wallets.
Why is this a bit extreme? Because you wouldn't use it? Please. There's tons of websites for dogs out there, tons of communities, and dog lovers are some of the most involved people ever when it comes to their pets. Why is it sad that they made this website? If they have the time and money to dedicate to this, why not? Its not like its cluttering your net space. Don't like it? Don't go there.
I really fail to see how you can justify making those kind of trollish comments about this.
I've heard planetside has some issues. I was very excited to play it, but have refrained because of what I've read. Things such as the "cone of fire" mean you cannot have head shots. Where is the skill with the "cone of fire"? I've also heard that its a numbers game of who has more XP. Now, Planetside is MOST CERTAINLY taking things in the right direction, but I think the next game that makes an attempt at this will do a lot better, just like EQ blew UO out of the water because they could fix some of the mistakes.
I'm personally very happy with bf1942. Especially in the bigger games. Personally, I just wish they had a non subscription based game that was an MMOFPS. Some battles could be so much more spectacular if you could have extremely large amounts of players on screen.
I await the day when computing power and graphics power are good enough to handle a battle with over a thousand people. How cool would it be to reenact the Battle of Helms Deep? There's some things which just can't be done with 64 players.
I also think it would be cool if a game came out with a large number of players, and once you got enough XP you could become a commander, and have access to a tactical view which would let you put marks on your teammates maps indicating you should go there, or that an enemy is there.
I'm having difficulties getting a fast connection from the site (surprise surprise). Can somebody please give in depth summaries of all three so that we can have some idea whats worth downloading? Thanks.
So I know when you scale helicopters down they get much harder to control, which is why RC helis tend to be so damned jumpy compared to their full size brethren.
Could anybody who knows the physics behind this please explain how this thing will perform/behave compared to a normal RC heli, and then compared to a full size heli?
Not only does this sound like a PR plant, but I think you'll find it will ultimately be bad as several other people have pointed out the kind of shoddy reputation this place has.
' This looks to me like another science fair type experiment on the ISS. It's like when I didn't water a plant in 4th grade, recorded that it died and called it a project."
Oddly enough, I did a similar science fair project in 4th grade, only it wasn't a plant, it was a fish. Then I got to meet the nice school psychologist.
I suggest you either watch the anime or read the manga for a series called Planet ES. Deals with exactly that topic from the perspective of a team of garbage collectors in space. The garbage men and women of the future.
Indeed. Last Exile is groundbreaking. It embodies that one realm of fantasy where few have dared travel, and I'm not even sure exactly what it is called, I just have a vague feel for it.
God I wish they made a bf1942 mod based on Last Exile. Airships own.
So when are they going to make a game JUST about doing drugs? I don't really want to play a Narc. I just want to exist in 3D in a MMO city with a similar feel to GTA, and I want to be able to take drugs in various forms and just go about my day.......drive to work.....go to school.......etc. Things I'd never do under the influence in real life.
Awww heck, what am I saying, I'd get baked before playing.
So I'm curious. Lets say we colonized Mars. Because of all the coloring issues surrounding the Martian photographs, could someone please clarify whether we would actually see a blue sky when the sun set? Or is that just some optical properties of the camera?
I have to say though, despite being an extremely short video clip, it is one of the most awe inspiring things I've seen in a while. Think about it. We just viewed a sunset ON ANOTHER PLANET. I can just imagine an art gallery featuring nothing but pictures of sunsets on other planets. As much as I love our planet Earth, I hope the day comes when I'll be able to stand on Mars and watch this for myself. The beauty of the universe is infinite, but every now and then a little piece of that beauty finds its way back to Earth, and we experience this beauty, and smile a little, not quite realizing the magnitude of what has just occured.
Interesting, I was always under the impression that the alien looking guy just lost focus, and thus lost control of a machine which I guarantee would need fly-by-wire.
The part where he shoves him into the ground, I don't know if that was the flight controls interpreting his desires, or a conscious action on his behalf.
" but instead tries something that no other game has tried before, generating the levels from normal audio CDs - using your favorite songs as soundtrack and level designer. If that ain't breaking new ground, it don't know what is..."
It didn't generate "levels", but if you'll recall, the Monster Rancher series let you put any CD in the machine, and it would generate the monsters you fought with based on the CD. It blew my mind when I first heard about it.
Personally, I always wished I had a game for car rides or something which would have VR goggles, and make a level based on what I was actually seeing, working all of the enemies into my environment, and I could shoot them with a light gun, or more a cursor around with a special mouse of some sort.
Parents point exactly, how is this new? Why does adding 5 feet to the range make this worth posting on the front page?

But then how will you microwave them to check for RFIDs? Or spend them?
You cheap bastard.

Just out of curiosity, what was the summer job? 'Drug-dealer'?
