It appeared that Cokinos was under the impression that Yahoo! had recall_carl01's real identity. I'd bet any money that the person behind recall_carl01 used fake sign-up information to get the account.
I guess I slept that day in law school. I remember learning that a third party had no duty to protect trade secrets. But you're right, the act says what it says.
Tortious interfence with a business relationship. That makes sense. I had read that it was for revealing a trade secret, that made no sense. Thanks for clearing it up.
Apple is suing some kid for divulging trade secrets. Exactly where is the contractual relationship between this kid and Apple?
Sure Apple could sue an employee or former employee for divulging this type of information, but I don't see what duty the kid has to keep it a secret. Once he, as a member of the public, learned the secret, it was no longer a secret.
But of course Apple could be threatening to sue knowing it will lose, merely to scare others from doing the same thing.
First, you're assuming that newbies WANT to buy computers. They don't. That's why they have no experince using computers, they hate computers. If they did want to use computers, I think even you would have admit that someone who never touched a mouse or keyboard before would have an easier time on a touchscreen versus a mouse and keyboard. It's just a simple fact.
Second, you're assuming that my sig is serious. It's not. It's a joke. People keep saying that Linux will succeed only when it's easy enough for a grandma to use. I'm making fun of that.
Yeah, I have a little 7" touchscreen on my stairmaster, connected to a computer. It's really handy. And my kids (2 and 3) are always wanting to touch the screen on my wife's computer when playing their games.
A touch screen would be the perfect interface for a newbie.
Exactly!!! Without the irony it's just stupid! In fact, without the irony, G4 is opening itself up to a trademark lawsuit from the Girls Gone Wild guys. With the irony, the shows would be different so there would be no likelihood of confusion. Without the irony, and since the shows are similar, there could be.
If the show survives, which I doubt it will, I expect a name change real soon.
And virtual girls tend to look better too. Here are some pics
of ATI's
virtual girl Ruby. Here are some real women
ATI made to look like Ruby. This proves
once again that the virtual world is better than the real one.
Oh my friggin god, you weren't kidding. It's really about a virtual beauty pageant! I was under some asinine impression that it'd be about women who are into technology.
That's pretty cool news. Cool in that Apple has the sense to know when and where it products WON'T work. Microsoft doesn't have that sense. It will use its products regardless of whether they're appropriate for the task.
Someone said the posting was nothing but fear, uncertainty, and doubt. I asked him where that fear, uncertainty, and doubt was. You don't seem to know either, so why did you bother posting other than to attack me personally?
And one more thing. You seem to think the Atkins diet is new. It was created over 30 years ago. If the diet was some sort of killer, as you allege, don't you think someone would have discovered that by now?
I too was skeptical about the Atkins diet but I lost 80 pounds doing the diet for only 6 months. Do you really believe that me doing the diet for 6 months is worse for my health than the loss of 80 pounds?!
And what evidence do you have to support this? None, just speculation.
I totally agree with your statement that there is no magic bullet for losing weight. But I take that to mean there are different solutions for different people. I've tried exercise and eating less, but after losing hardly anything for a month, I'd get discouraged and quit. (I used to run cross country in high-school and ran into my adulthood until my knees went out. After a few years of not being able to run, the weight packed on.)
On the Atkins I was able to lose a consistent amount every week. That embiggened me to keep going.
Now I'm no longer obese, I'm able to exercise, and by temporarily eliminating carbs, I've learned a little bit about myself.
What I learned was that I'm "addicted" to carbs. On the Atkins I never overate. I'd eat until I was full and then stop. That shocked me as I tended to eat WAY past being full when I wasn't on the diet. By not eating carbs I learned that it was the carbs that I craved and which caused me to overeat.
So now I do my best not to eat carbs, no potatoes, no bread, no rice, no pasta. I will eat a lot of vegetables and fruits and lean meat, and best of all, I'm keeping my weight off.
Do you even know what FUD stands for? It is certain and there is no doubt that Microsoft's 2003 crashed under the pressure and OSX did not. Where is the fear? Where is the uncertainty? And where is the doubt?
Makes a pretty good living selling bootleg music CDs on ebay. I'm not sure how he gets away with it. From what I hear they're really cracking down on that type of stuff.
I guess I should define "pretty good living." To him it means not ever having to go to work. I'm guessing he's able to pay his rent, car insurance, buy food, etc, but that's about it.
The screenless Shuffle iPod is a GREAT idea. I've never actually used a screen on either of my MP3 players to find a particular song. I just have them set to shuffle and hit play. I let "god" choose what I'll hear next.
I do the same thing at home. Even though I have all my CDs organized by subfolders, I only listen to a 6-day long playlist I created of all my favorite songs. I rarely have to look at my screen at home to listen to music; I just click a button on my Remote Wonder and let it play.
And I do the same thing in my car. I have the same 6-days of music spread over 12 CD-Rs. I've never searched for a particular song while driving (or while parked). I just let shuffle do the work.
When I first was introduced to Doom I played it every chance I got. Unfortunately, the only computer I could use was at work. So I'd play it the 8 hours I was there and then stay after closing until it opened again around 5am. I'd even come in and play on my days off. So in addition to playing too much I was also sleep deprived.
Here's what happened to me: I was walking down a hallway when an elevator opened. In fear, I jumped over to the side of the elevator door with my back up against wall waiting for the monsters to come piling out. That episode lasted a few seconds before I realized what was going on.

How come I never have any mod points when I come across something this god-damn funny?!

Sure, "if" the situation were different there would uncertainty, but where is it in this real instance? And where is the fear and doubt?

Anyone greedy enough to do it would be greedy enough not to stop.

We've been keeping our bathrooms locked at work out of fear of being sued by IBM.!
