There is a program called X1 that does the same thing. It's been out for a long time and works with Mozilla Mail and just about everything else on my HD.

What's next? The Google operating system? Are we looking at the beginnings of a next-generation Microsoft-like empire?

Yes, and then as you get older all the youngins will hate Google, and love some NEW company and you'll have to explain to them that Google used to be good, and Microsoft Bad, but Microsoft used to be Good and IBM bad but now IBM is good and maybe by then Microsoft will be good. Then there's the whole SCO/Caldera/SCO thing.

You would think that a company like SCO that has promised almost every last penny to it's own lawyers would remember that bit of history before making comparisons.

This (more hurricanes) comes as a surprise to anyone? The atmosphere is a heat engine. You put more heat energy in, you get more wind energy out. It's as simple as that. Of course you're going to get more high wind events. In the Carribean, you call those Hurricanes.

What's bemusing to a European eye is that it seems to be the places which are most likely to be devastated by global warming that are most likely to vote for Bush.

Just because Bush is full of Hot Air doesn't mean you can blame the hurricanes on him.

    That's a fabulous idea!

I do this already. I always make sure to check every bill I get has been properly updated in the database. You wouldn't believe how many people out there are trying to use unregistered money. I mean really would you take just any old dollar? Who knows where it's been.

Once this takes off maybe we can expand it to $5 and $10 bills. The US Gov really is going at this wrong. They need to start small and prove the system works with the poor before bothering wealthy people who carry $50 bills.

The only difference between pros and amateurs is the amount of time they spend on something and the price of their tools. Telescopes are becoming commodities just like computers. The internet allows people to collaborate and check out the same object and keep up to date on the latest developments.

It doesn't matter much if your being paid, it's how much time and work you put into what your doing and how much it costs to have the proper tools to help you out.

Astronomy and Programming now have very low barriers to entry and are easy to collaborate. It just broadeds the base of those fields. To get the the top you still need super computers or things like the Keck Observatory that are very hard to come by - for now.
