    C++/STL/BOOST (graph and multi-index libraries and lambda)

    If the competions gave these as options, there really wouldn't be
    a competition. It would be a battle of who can figure which routines
    to use in which order... Or in other words it would be a slaughtering
    of people using any other language by people using the C++/STL/BOOST combo.

    yes correct, and in-fact it can be taken one step further:

    assume the system is able to determine symmetric groups.
    that is groups that have totally (or near totally) different
    voting directions, an example would be the honest group and
    the spammers group.

    if say the spammers vote something up, instead of the honest
    group ignoring their rating, they can use the symmetric
    properties between their group and the spammer's group to
    re-enforce their vote (aka the credence) of the file in
    question - in this case rate it down even further.

    If the right restrictions were put in place such as the fact
    that the symmetric effect will only effect files that have a
    negative credence and not files that have a positive credence,
    then various forms of collusion can be over come.

    A lie can always be turned into a truth and a truth into a lie...

    When uploading JPEGs created in GIMP, the site returns:

    "could not upload JPEG, please use proper JPEG format"

    So I re-save the image with MS-paintbrush still the same error...
    Not very happy, not very happy at all...

    Its an American software maker that is providing the software solutions
    for such large scale filtering.

    To be honest, the company has stated that they do not have an clients
    representing the Iranian government.

    This leads one to conclude that the software is either being used illegally
    or a 3rd party is interfacing between the company and the country.

    regardless, filtering of the internet for Iranians will be here for sometime
    yet, though through experience i have seen that those that want to circumvent
    the system, easily can. and there aren't many that want to but can't :)
