    From the smartmontools homepage, it seems that smartsuite is its no longer maintained precursor, and that smartmontools is the way to go.

    ahah, funny that you mention Zune, I was its creator :) The geocities page is so old I dont remember how to modify it (if it's still possible at all).
    Zune on X11 is pretty dead (especially vs. Qt and GTK) but the project got a new life with AROS, which is ... an AmigaOS clone for x86/PPC/m68k/whatever. As a side effect of the AROS port, it is also working on the original AmigaOS, although MUI is still far ahead.

    1. Search the Deus Ex .ini files, especially user.ini, and find a key that is never mapped to anything. Remap all instances of it to "Talk."

    2. Run DeusEx.exe with the command parameter -haxor. i.e., use the Run Program option in Windows to open it from its directory with the command: DeusEx.exe -haxor

    3. When it is loaded, open the credits. A game does not need to be actually started at first.

    4. On the credits screen, type thereisnospoon. Make sure that you get it right, as the only feedback is the sound of clicking keys. If you make a mistake, exit the screen and try again. If you get it right, you'll get the message "May Tricks Mode Enabled."

    5. Load a game or play a new game. Everything will be made out of scrolling green numbers, like in The Matrix.

    Give us a break, Canadians from Quebec are magnitudes more zealot than the French regarding to frenglish use. Furthermore, this isnt really hot news, we've got these french versions of various english words (cédérom anyone ?) for years now, following our cousins from Quebec. Most French people dont bother about using those French words, why should you ?

    I had to work on Jabber with other guys, we were paid for that. I wrote the first version of xdb_sql. But working on Jabber was such a PITA that I left coding and never looked back. Sound coding standards are a must for any ambitious project. So give jabber hacking a try ... You'll see what I mean. At least, when you stop, what a relief ! :)

    The real problem is for developers : should they develop for Gnome or KDE or (neither/other) ?

    An intermediate layer between applications and desktop, allowing decoupling of Gnome/KDE specific features from the applications, would allow the user to use whatever desktop they want.

    Now the question is : is such a layer an acceptable solution ? For example, it would be Yet Another API to learn for application developers ...
