I agree 100%. TTG is probably capping resource usage for the transfer so it doesn't interfere with Tivos primary function of recording and playing. Using the "save to VCR" option may be faster in the long run, but you can't have it record while you watch something else. Likewise, you can't queue up multiple programs like you can with TTG. TTG is a winner.
Not true. I'm a Tivo owner (3 yrs) and recently got the PVR offered from Comcast. I use is along side with my Tivo. Tivo does most of the work, recording the bulk of the programs on ch. 2-99. The Comcast box gets the digital content, plus I can schedule it to purchase a PPV while I am not there.
So, there is a reason to have both because neither is a complete solution when you have digital cable.
Think about it. The hardware makers treated PDA's as disposable. They keep replacing previous models instead of upgrading them. I don't think people have lost interest in using PDA's. There are plenty in use all around my office. I just think "we" just got collectively tired of blowing $400+ every year for something that still works. Also, many geeks have gone on belt diets. I for one have gotten tired of haveing a pager for work, my personal cell phone, an iPaq, and my ipod on my belt. In the fight for space, the iPaq and pager lost. I just routed the pages to my personal phone, put my notes on the ipod and replaced my watch with a Fossil MSN direct watch that has my calendar. Now I only have a cell and ipod on my belt.
"They" already tie barcodes to your personal identification. You think Walmart isn't tracking the spending habits for each debit/credit card used? You're kidding yourself. RFID is a better barcode, plain and simple. It is not some magic tracking device that allows a retailer to track your every move any more than they already can. So, put your paranoia away and rest asure that you can still purchase your Playboys with cash and nobody is the wiser.

I think that reading about the losses incured from receiving SPAM should also be tracked. I know I just wasted some more time...
The real question is, will I have to contact the FAA before opening the case? You never know if a plane might be flying over head.
It would be nice to HP announce something that hasn't already been done before... Where is the "invent" in this?
All this and more than likly a $800+ price tag.

"Give a man a fire..." LOL - I love it! Thanks for the chuckle.

Gee, you think no one has ever tried this with barcodes before?
