    I'm not going to tell you that you SHOULD get high-speed Internet access, perhaps it's not what you want or need, however, most Linux users are on some type of high-speed connection, and so you might find support for dialup in Linux to be quite lacking. I know I did several years ago, and this was still when a lot of people used dialup.

    I actually had this problem in Windows, I had turned on ipv6 a long time ago and forgotten about it. I couldn't figure out why some sites would take AGES to load, but then I realized it was only sites with AAAA records causing the delay.

    The problem is, DiVX/XViD aren't designed with streaming in mind..

    Check out WinampTV, full-screen buffer-free streams are possible with XViD already, and this is with zero funding or venture capital.

    It wouldnt even be hard to encapsulate DRM into XViD if someone wanted to, honestly I can't understand why companies are so hooked on using Real's formats when there are FREE alternatives that are better.

    Have you noticed if this has caused some programming not to be aired? In a way, this reviewing could end up censoring some programming if too many people think it shouldn't be aired for whatever reason. Some may think a particular program would be too edgy for their area and vote it as being "bad".

    Isn't that the point?

    Are you saying that because you had access to the Half-Life 2 Beta, you have authoritative knowledge through some developer-fed channel from Valve that gives you verifiable information concerning the theft?

    I'm saying exactly what I said, which is that I played the Hl2 Beta. The fact that people downloaded and played it should be enough "verifiable information" that it was leaked.

    Hey, why do you suppose it's called the passing lane?

    People accidentally loiter in the passing lane all the time, it's easy to drift off and not realize where you are, but when you are reminded nicely to get out of the way(flashing lights), and you not only refuse, but start being an asshole about it you deserve be pulled over and fined.

    Being passed in the passing lane is illeagal here, and for good reason. How would you feel if you were being taken to the hospital with a critical illness, only to be held up on the way by some idiot with a sore ego and something to prove?

    I know that legitimate users will gripe, but why not have a sign up database somewhere that allows those people to run a legitimate mail server, with a three strikes and you're out rule for spam complaints.

    You can get three people to complain about anything.

    ..I just made them a root-user which was typically nick-root, that way things could be more easily tracked, etc. Works pretty well.
