    You suppose wrong. Antennas alone require no FCC testing. The FCC only regulates transmitters, and approves them for use with a specific antenna. An antenna alone is a freakin' metal stick, man. The FCC can't regulate the sale of springy bits of wire, regardless of whether the threaded end happens to fit a transmitter somewhere.

    And as we all know, your AP as well as the client card are both a transmitter and a reciever. Hence they fall under FCC jurisdiction.

    You have no right to privacy on other people's property. If you come to my house and find microphones and cameras setup everywhere you are welcome to leave, but you cannot pretend like you have some right to stop me from monitoring you.

    In quite a few states both parties must be aware that they are being recorded for it to be legal. If you set up hidden cameras in your bathroom to watch the babysitter changing and you get caught you will still get in trouble.

    I don't think it has any negative impact on my life if people know what I'm doing as long as I can still do whatever I want. Of course, dishonest people might think otherwise. Of course a criminal would want some privacy, or someone who is lying to his wife.

    Ah yes, the classic "you have nothing to hide if you are doing nothing wrong" defense.

    Arizona's position on Daylight Saving Time is enlightened, and we should all follow their shining example.

    Noon should always be when the sun is directly over my time-zone.


    Unless you live very close to the equator this is impossible without some form of correction in the form of a time-shift (e.g. DST). You might not notice the difference if you are in AZ, but those of us in WA and other Northern states do.

    What's stupid is the entire concept of Daylight Saving Time. In fact, timezones themselves are stupid. Everyone should be on UTC.

    Lets say I want to call someone in a different country:

    Current System: I know what timezone the person is in and add/subt. x hours to determine their time. I can know that it is not too early/late to call since I know that noon is esentially the same time everywhere.

    Your System: I know that it is X o'clock everywhere but have absolutely no idea what the relative time is. It would be nice if I had some handy chart listing the time differences around the globe huh?

    So WTF? You are allowed to refuse them access to your property or house until they get a warrant or whatever, but you are not allowed the same rights over you electronic property since it is a computer?     While I certainly don't agree with all of the Democrat's planks at least you tend to know where you stand with them. They are predictable and the rhetoric tends to match the record. This current batch of Republicans really has made an art form of saying they will do one thing then doing the exact opposite and yet never getting called on it.

    The gulf between "becoming depressed" and having clinical depression is so vast that it actually hurts my head when people say stuff like this.

    Modern coporations are cutting off their nose to spite their face. Someday they will be crying in their beer about not being able to find any workers. Well they made their own bed now they've got to sleep in it.

    I say good! When there are no more programmers around we can charge an arm and a leg for our services. For somebody who graduated from college at the height of the market flooding with CS grads this sounds like welcome news.
