The sound chips of the C64 were revolutionary for the time, and even today are still sought after by SID music enthusiasts and other PC music junkies (for use in PC board hardware - such as HardSID), and quite frankly I would like two of them myself!
If you like the classic SID sounds, then you'll love the SidStation Synth. Somebody get me one before they run out of chips!
To put it lightly... these 50,000 to 75,000 zombies need to be pulled from the Internet stat.
Fortunately this portscanning behaviour will show up on firewall logs much better than this email crap. Within no time, dshield.org and other similar log aggrigation services should have a nice accurate list of infected machines that they use to contact sysadmins of appropriate networks.
Portscanning? It looks for one specific open port.
Yeah, my highschool used cue sheets and we had I think 4 radios, 1 for the director, 1 for lighting engineer, 1 for the sound engineer and 1 for the stage manager.
Everyone else remembered thier cues or looked to one of the 4 for information.
BTW, my school whooped ass every year at the theater festival in Muncie, IN and 3 people I worked with my senior year ended up on Broadway.
P.S. I went to James B. Castle Highschool Kaneohe, HI c/o 92.
Well there is still the "gimmick factor": people are used to one small screen for handhelds. Two screens of the same size are dual monitor AND twice the space to them. There's a lotta kids that will want it for just that reason.
I'm sure this device will also fold to save space, it's a portable unit. I welcome more screen real estate. It would be cool if some games could have a screen spanning map mode too. A playlist/control interface for a video/music player? How about video conferencing and a whiteboard too? OK, maybe that's going too far.
Unfortunately, I don't have the money to buy two Gamecubes. But hey, if I ever find a pot of gold in the forest I'll be sure to open a my Gamecube X Client Cafe franchises across Asia.
You know, i've found it a little hard to find a telnet client that has good support for ANSI graphics... I still telnet into an emulated MajorBBS back in my home town.
I used to love checking out all the different ANSI screens on dialup BSSs back in the day. I tried playing with TheDraw but I sucked! I remember listening to really simple ANSI music tunes too...
ACiD put out some pretty neat stuff... I remember there being some RIP Script art too.. that stuff was neat cause it was VGA quality graphics... anyone still doing those? I never did get a chance to play a RIP based game on a BBS! RIP died before it even got off the ground where I'm from.
Well, you're obviously exaggerating a bit there. I happen to be a huge fan of Warp Reocords. You're fortunate for finally hearing of the label.
They have a very varied catalouge of music as well... not just stuff teenagers on drugs might listen to. In fact I think there is a lot of rather sophisticated music there.
I really don't know what you listen to, but I'm going to suggest some downtempo artists you might like. Between djing nightclubs/lounges and playing in my friend's cafe or at an art opening; I've only gotten compliments and inquiries into what I'm playing.
Nightmares On Wax "Carboot Soul" (Smooth, lots of analog instruments, great beats
Plaid Anything by them, thier remix of Bjork's (heard of her?) "All is Full of Love" is probably one of the best Bjork remixes ever.
Anti Pop Consortium "The Blue Series (vs. Matthew Ship)" Cerebral and political hiphop, this particular album is a great exploration in jazz & hiphop.
Broadcast I just saw them in concert recently not knowing what they sounded like, very tight instrumentation, hard to pin down thier style but the're deffinately jazz influenced. The lead singer has a dreamlike voice and looks like some sort of ice princess.
Boards of Canada Thier sound is probably the most mellow of the list. More downtempo beats and grooves that I'm sure has been played in more than a few upscale health spas.
Prefuse 73 "Vocal Studies + Uprock Narratives" He mixes old and new school hiphop, soul and funk w/ new editing technology + his own style, and produced one of the best albums of 2003.
There's a lot more, and my descriptions aren't the best... but please give the label a try. Another good listen is Stereolab is another good listen, layered guitar and analog synth driven music with a great female singer. If you like Radiohead you might like this... though its not quite the same.
I remember one time I was trippin and threw a ball into the air and it never came down... could this have caused the ball to hover over my head for 20 minutes? This probably wouldn't explain how the ball was laughing at me though....
Well, the ball floated because you missed the Earth, basically the same effect as stated in The Hitchhiker's Trilogy. Your drug induced state probably allowed you to throw the ball at specific yet unrepeatable while sober trajectory. As far as the ball laughing at you, it was obviously a Happy Fun Ball.
Re-read this article. It sounds to me like the xboxen will need to talk to a "XP Media PC" as a mother ship. As in it will not know how to even talk to lunix.
Well if that's the case, I'm sure someone will easily sniff the interface and create linux software to emulate an XP Media PC.
Just watch, this is gonna lead to some wacky robotics competition where teams try to construct different robotic launchers to see which can skip more times or longer distance.
...And then those robot disc launcher will be made into backpack units that can behead an enemy combatant at 500 yards.
nasa has a plan for a lander on europa complete with a sub-ice probe that's been sitting on the backburner for years. Many advanced technologies not currently available would be required, including long-duration survivable systems (power, thermal, radiation), minimal-mass autonomous systems (systems-on-a-chip, autonomous safe precision landing), life detection (including preventing contamination of Europa by Earth organisms), and communication of science data from within the ocean to the ice surface, to the orbiter, and then to Earth.
This kinda implies that it would take a little time and money.
Would a leak this size be visible from outside of the station? I.E. would you see a small stream of gas? And since the ISS is broken into compartments, they should be able to seal each compartment and iron the leak down to a single compartment. Then its a matter of finding the leak itself.
I believe the proper procedure is to coat the entire station with soapy water and look for bubbles.
I'm just wondering... is it the parents' fault for allowing children to play a ESRB mature rated game? Is it UbiSoft's faulf for being asleep at the wheel? Or is it the guy who set up the porno portal? He did knowingly buy a domain that minors will see a reference to in a video game and then set it up with porn links.
I suppose it doesn't matter since it is rated mature by the ESRB and any responsible *cough* game retailer wouldn't sell it to a kid anyway.
Hmmmm... naybe when it comes down to it, the issue is between this guy and UbiSoft's pocketbooks.
I don't play any MMORPGs... well I did play NWN for a bit but it's not a persistant world. (yet?)
I'm wondering though... don't some games have skill based trades? How will Kraginlor's +5 Armorsmithy hold out against online manufacturing outfits when selling stuff on ebay? I recall an article about some guys who had min wage workers playing Everquest or something like that to gain items to sell online. How about automated equipment factories run by computers playing games so the owners can post items for sale?
Will offshore MMORPG play factories undercut mom & pop's kids' profitability?
Yes, it would be even nicer if the stores took a little initiative and put the more mature rated games up higher or seperated themselves, instead of on the bottom line.
"No word on whether it can be user-disabled..." Im thinkin a paper punch would do wonders...
Or perhaps a dip in bleach, vinegar, or even water depending on what the chenicals are if you wanna keep it intact.
warn of burning out your engine with bad code, and voiding your warranty
Car manufacturers can be such bullies sometimes. Luckily, there are things such as the Magnusson Moss Warranty Act to help protect consumers.
Does that cover accidental disabling of your anti-lock breaking system and airbags?

It's only a trick so she can get him close enough to chop off his miserable head.

Hey, it's his fault for not being a celebrity or a politician.
Oh crap, I think The Governator may be setting himself up for something big.

this review praises the game.

Sounds like you're describing Aerogel it was mentioned on slashdot a few times, I believe this was the first.
Wow, I wish I had cable TV now.. that musta been a neat show. I just can't see myself paying for TV though.

I thought this article was about a sex simulation - you know, like the "child-spawning game" mentioned in the writeup.
I was trying to figure out what kind of "spawning game" they could make for kids and why would it be so great?
Simulated salmon farm? frogs? rabbits?
Apparently Aussies can download it.
... a 747/station wagon/fed ex truck or similar full of $mediaofchoice
Does this measurement take into account the time taken to write to the media, then loading and unloading of media into the vehicle?

why spend money and time going to mars?
