Both firebird and mozilla have good tabbed browsing - you may want to install TBE (tabbed browsing extensions) from http://extensionroom.mozdev.org/ though to have a perfect tabbed browsing experience (it has options to never open new windows, everything will always open in a tab).

Other recommended extensions are NeedleSearch (or GoogleBar).

As an admittedly contrived analogy, let's say you grab a guy off the street and make him mow your lawn at gunpoint. You are benefiting from his service without conpensating him. Had you not held the gun to your head, you would have had to compensate him for providing the service. While I admit there is nothing analogous to a gun when copying software or a movie, the argument still holds.

No.. it doesnt at all. You need to stop trying to use analogies if you can't think them through.

Sound: Get a good pair of headphones and you will beat the fidelity in a cinema.

Most car journeys are pointless. Even going to work. I could easily work from home - all I need is a computer and an internet connection.

    Super fallacious arguments batman!!!
Firstly if you can afford to buy a computer this is not the same as being able to afford a computer PLUS £40 for software!
Secondly even if you can afford £40, then shouldnt the same logic apply for a firewall, then for an office suite etc...

There are plenty of free alternatives on windows, AVG, Kerio for a firewall, Openoffice etc... and I think you are doing them a disservice.
