Unlike a lot of malware that exploits vulnerabilities in the Windows operating system, there is no 'patch' that can be downloaded to ward off Kama Sutra.
How about a stupidty patch for opening up an attachment like the one described.
And since everything can be tied to your Google account, Google promises not to share any information gathered with the US Government. They will, however, send all your data to China.
Which the US government will buy from the Chinese who are more than happy to sell it back to.
I have no idea if the fact that a store tracked with a customer card contributed to the demise of said store. Once they started requiring a card for any sale items I quit shopping there. Too much of a hassle, and I didn't like the tracking. Several other people I know did the same thing.
Actually, Aspartame does cause headaches. My wife had an issue with Aspartame when it first came out. She eventually put together that every time she drank a diet pop she would get a splitting headache a short time later. She quit drinking the pop, the headaches went away. Later it came out in the press that Aspartame caused that in some people, but she had already quit using it by then anyway.
We have been doing PACS for 10 years now. Was solaris based then, and the workstations still are. All the back end database stuff is now running on linux boxes. Our old Toshiba 16 slice CT is Irix based, but the new Toshiba 64 is XP. The Nuc cameras are AIX, Fluoro is NT4, General Xray DR was NT4 but just changed to XP, and General Xray CR is WIN2K. I don't know what MR's system is, but it's some sort of 'nix. Oh, and the ultrasound machines are WIN2K.

#41 Sell IPod on Ebay is exactly what I did or attempted to do that is. Won a 2gb nano in a drawing just before Christmas and decided 2gb doesn't cut it. My only problem is that the guy that won claims his 8 yr old son bid on it and won't pay. Now I have to wait a week and relist it. At least this gives me more time to scope out ebay for different players. Looking at either an IRiver with OGG support, or a Creative zen with great battery life and large HD.
Technology Specialists, not engineers. I am not an engineer, but have been in the tech field for 25 years. I think the US probably has more tech-adept per capita than the other countries.
Same here, and you might want to also add text ads. I rarely ever see them, and if I do, I add them to my adblock list. These Google ads the article is atlking about I haven't seen in ages.
What ads? I didn't see any when I went to live.com and signed in. I didn't check to see if adblock was blocking anything or if it didn't really have any.
I agree. Their CPU list is all well and good if you plan on building a new system, but worthless if you are upgrading. I will probably change from my XP1700 tbred to the AMD Mobile 2600+. That way, I can keep using my current memory and video card, and as a bonus, will use even less power as well.
One would assume that he is "relieving New Yorkers of $5000 for a bunch of wool!", but he is out of Mesa, AZ, and the Gallery is in Seattle, WA. Probably was relieving some Left Coasters or Sedona/Santa Fe flakes of some lettuce instead.
You don't have an LS2, you have an SL2. The LS2 was only sold in 2000, and it is a V6. The V6 only came with an automatic. The 2000 L series were named LS, LS1, LS2. After 2000 they changed the names to L100, L200, L300. 2005 was the last year for the L series. Also, it appears that all the new Saturns are just doing to be badge engineered GM cars and will have metal bodies. I have a 2000 LS with a 2.2l engine and manual tranny. I average 32mpg in mixed driving and get 35 hwy.
A man after my own heart. Except I am running the original 3.5 floppy drive from I guess around 1990. Whenever 386sx were out and wolf 3d came out. Somewhere around that time period.
Tracking a cell phone without GPS is non trivial, and not accurate. The phone needs to be hitting at least 3 towers to triangulate the location from, and even then it it's only good to within 100 meters. With a GPS equipped phone, all that needs to be done is query the phone for it's current coordinates. Most modern GPS recievers support WAAS correction signals which can get the accuracy into the 1-3 meter range.
No, OnStar doesn't track everything you do, but the capability is there to do so, and to be abused by those in power.
Say you happened to be someone like Cindy Sheehan, who REALLY pisses off the government. It would be trivial for someone in the government to call one of their toadies at GM or OnStar and track the whereabouts of an OnStar equipped vehicle, or even monitor the inside of the vehicle by using the speakerphone feature.
I consider just having that capabilty available a huge intrusion to privacy, and if I ever got a car that had OnStar standard, I would disable it immediately.
One other thing to keep in mind. Most new cell phones have built in GPS chips for 911 calls. That same capability allows those phones to be easily tracked. Given the ubiquity of cell phones, that is a lovely way for governments to keep tabs on "undesireables". Given that the US is a country where you can be locked up as an "enemy combatant" indefinetely and without due process, things like OnStar and GPS Cellphones give me cause to worry.
I remember seeing one of the reporters in NO saying that their cell wasn't working, but that he got a wild hair and tried a pay phone and it worked fine.

Isn't optimus a RadioShack brand name for audio equipment? Or at least it used to be.

You must be stupid.. Dogs can't look up, and therefore would not be able to read the street signs.

Well documented in the classified 1964 military proof of concept film The Incredible Mr. Limpet.

The cool thing is that Yahoo charges their advertisers based on that data, and the advertisers waste their bux on adblock users like me.
