Putin is just building his own NSA, and we get this hyperbolic bullshit? And should I assume links to radical, far-right websites will be coming soon since we're already doing the same with the leftists?
No, it's still correct. Cloud storage is a disaster waiting to happen on numerous fronts. Just because the "masses" don't realize it doesn't make it less true.
As more and more millennials come into the work force, they expect to see light, fast, small, and up-to-date tools to use, because that's what they're used to, and their tools are like a badge of honor
Or how about they use the right tool for job, as determined by people who have actually been doing the fucking job? And how is a tool, be it a computer or airhammer or ratchet or saw a "badge of honor"? What the hell is this stuffed suit babbling about?
Older employees might want bigger screen and keyboards
Unless the "job" is posting on social media all day, watching cat videos, or sending pictures of your junk to strangers you meet on apps, what real work can anyone of any age or demographic actually get done on a mobile device? If your job involves creating content, code, spreadsheets, documents, really anything at all, how can you do it efficiently without a real screen and keyboard? I really doubt "millennials" or anyone else are so special that they can be productive pounding on a sheet of glass like a monkey.
Yep, it was such an unimportant idea to the Founders that they made it the SECOND Amendment, right after the right to free speech. They wouldn't have just left it up to the southern states to determine their stance on it, they codified it right there in the highest law of the land, because it was about killing slaves or something.
Every action has an equal and opposite reaction. It doesn't just apply to physics, unfortunately.
The farther the establishment tries to shove us away from freedom and liberty, the harder the truly intelligent push back against them. Just look at the situation with the EU. Just days after the will of the people of Great Britain showed that they wish to be independent again the EU counteracts with disarming and assimilating the militaries of EU member-states. It's reminiscent of Vichy France.
It's escalating exponentially and I just hope cooler heads can prevail on both sides. No one wants the alternative.
Except for the fact that Jews weren't actually raping women and otherwise controlling and terrorizing the German public. Trying to equate the Muslim invasion of Europe with Jews in 1930's Germany is obvious antisemitism.
But of course! Trump doesn't count as a real person to anyone on the left, he's subhuman. See, they use the exact same tactics that real, actual racists and bigots use to discredit people they hate, but since he's white and a male it's all A-OK! I used to support Apple, but lately I'm finding out that there isn't a single organization left that I can give my money to and still be able to sleep at night.
By the way, love the signature. I get that feeling often.
Yeah, I know how it goes. I know if it were me, I'd probably drive myself down and eat the cost (since it doesn't REALLY cost $102.60 for that drive) just to save the hassle of dealing the the airport (and saving myself 2.5 hours each way!)
Yes, Macrovision was most widely implemented by corrupting the vertical blanking signal which in turn caused the AGC in a consumer video recorder to go haywire and screw the video all to hell. The best part is that this little scheme did nothing to stop all but the most amateur pirates, as you could buy a cheap "Macrovision buster" to insert in-line with the video connection to remove the corruption, or use a professional deck with a TBC that was simply immune to it.
So as usual, commercial-scale pirates went about their business unscathed while fair use and the average consumer had the screws turned on them.
Netflix does not replace a television service, it is a supplement. The user interface of my TiVo is about 5 light-years ahead of any streaming service.
What about people who don't want the "driver" to be obsolete? Who have worked with technology enough to know you can never rely on it when it really matters. What if I'm cool with taking the risk to drive a car and that I'm not so scared shitless that I'm seriously worried about making cars "safer" at the expense of removing the human experience from the operation of the vehicle.
I'm a humanist, I believe in humanity. Technology will fail us and so will all the other altars that the modern man worships to. Humanity will persevere, and technology is shit.
I'm so sick of hearing this shit repeated ad nauseam. Usually, the "entrenched players" have good reason to be skeptical. In 2007, per your example, a Blackberry was orders of magnitude more functional than an iPhone and multiple times more useful to their core business market. iPhone didn't start to be a serious contender until around the 4-series and some would argue that it never actually caught up from a messaging standpoint to the Blackberry. I won't argue that the iPhone didn't revolutionize smartphones and that there were tons of other benefits once the product became mature.
The same goes for Uber and all the other "disruptive" services and products. When you don't have to play by any rules it's easy to make things better. I still won't take Uber because I don't trust "some guy" to come pick me up. I want a service that follows all the standards and regulations we've established for a reason. I have no doubts that Tesla's "autopilot" is probably hype. Look where it's coming from. When you have a niche product, it doesn't matter how well it works or doesn't work. Volvo, on the other hand, is legendary for the safety of their products. If a Volvo engineer says it's dangerous, it probably is.
I'm just so sick of hearing how since something is coming out of some VC hype machine or technological "upstart" or internet company that it must somehow going to change my life. The cell phone changed how we live, the rest has all been incremental. I'm not living any better since the iPhone came around, or Uber, nor will I because of a self-driving car. It's all smoke and mirrors. Really disruptive technologies, like electricity, the internet, refrigeration, splitting the atom, are few and far between and don't need some huckster shouting about how great they are.
AT&T switches seized because known criminals were using it to communicate with one another. Also, all Postal Service trucks will be ordered off the roads as criminals are using them to mail illegal goods.
No one should still be running XP unless it's on a specialized system, and those shouldn't be used for general web browsing anyway.
But OS X 10.8? That came out in 2012, not 2001. Even 10.7 is still fairly modern. 10.6/Snow Leopard is getting long in the tooth, so that might make sense to drop support, but this will just make people using the older Macs run out of date browsers or find another product.
It must be nice to live in your naive little lalaland where the government means well, but just doesn't get how the magic boxes work. And where a basement email server run by "a guy" is more secure than hardened, robust, and security designed industrial email systems. No, make no mistake, these are hardcore totalitarians and they know it. They have been installed to do a job, and that is destroy a society based on liberty and freedom. Thanks to people who think they "mean well", they're getting away with it. That witch is one of the worst of the bunch.
But I envy you, if I could go back to, say, being 15-16 years old when I could still tell myself that things were bad because of plain old ignorance, I'd go back in a heartbeat.
Where does it end with you shills? Are they really paying you THAT much per post to inject political vitriol into every conversation on the internet? Fuck off.
Are we not even allowed to have our own slivers of bandwidth for open, public, unlicensed access without the carriers coming in to shit all over it in a thinly veiled attempt to make Wi-Fi less robust and reliable so they can sell more LTE connections?
Stay the fuck off of the only bands the people have the right to operate our networks on. The carriers already bogart a huge chunk of public resource for profit, will they never be satisfied?

it's on the way here as well.
It's already been here, you just haven't been paying attention.
Who is being targeted by it only depends on what regime is currently in power.
An anti-Muslim "comedian" on Twitter originally posted that image on 16/06/15. It didn't get picked up by "anti-semite websites" until a week later.

Grasping at straws, man.

Do you work for the SPLC?

I'm thinking about moving back to Android, as well. It's just too bad Apple gets many things so right and others so blatantly wrong...
Yeah, I know how it goes. I know if it were me, I'd probably drive myself down and eat the cost (since it doesn't REALLY cost $102.60 for that drive) just to save the hassle of dealing the the airport (and saving myself 2.5 hours each way!)
Ain't the future grand?
You can DRIVE from Seattle to Portland in less than 3 hours.
But sure as hell not in mine.
Yep, and so it always goes...

There goes the last bill that I didn't feel grubby about paying. Now I'm supposed to GIVE MONEY to Macrovision? Time to look for alternatives...
