I've purchased 134 songs so far from itunes. Every time I have purchased songs from them the download has been fast(i am on a DSL) and the quality is amazing..Selection is great but i wish they more stuff from the 80's.
Now with books and personal playlists and gift certs, they have made it even better...
the best part is that the artists get their share...whether you agree its a fair share is a different matter since apple did not write the contracts between the record companies and the artists...
I will tell you this though... whatever they are getting from itunes is way more then they are getting from Kazaa downloads...
read the wired story. sony is claiming 10 hrs on a 20 gig or something like that.
also, they have already proven that selling music online works.10 million songs enough for you? (selling those 10 million to the 5% of the market that has a mac and an ipod)
wait till the 16th when the windows version...
once again, apple will show the rest of the industry how to innovate...
I own a Sony Eric. t68i that has bluetooth and syncing my phone numbers and date via apple's isync just by putting my phone down next to my mac has been amazing...
look ma no wires!
I'm not going to look at this till maybe a rev 2 when they add bluetooth*
* i don't want to use the only SD card slot by adding bluetooth at the cost of storage btw...
A well run Linux system with OS maintenance using RPM, debian's APT or Gentoo's ports is going to be a lot cleaner system in 12 months than an OSX machine.
Really?
How easy is to install Photoshop via RPM?
Office via Gentoo?
Final Cut or any iApp via curl?
Let me guess, Gimp would solve my first question... cough..cough... not.
Did anyone ever think that part of the reason why they switched is because of the lack of quality commerical software on linux?
And btw, It already is REAL unix, and not only is it the highest volume shipping version of unix on the planet, but apple did what NO other software company has been able to do in the 30+ year history of unix. The made it usable by the masses.
Care to give them at least an ounce of credit now?
apple has been very responsive to sec alerts and networking passwords are encrypted.
you can also ftp over ssh. (sftp) type stuff if you need to move a files over... there is also apple remote desktop and timbuktu to let you control the machine in all its aqua glory..
i do believe (for what its worth as I am comparing this to win and top tier linuxes) its the most secure out of the box..
insert blah blah no system is totally secure statement here
of course this is true, but out of the box and over the past 2 years OSX has been and is a reamrkable product...
Can anyone point me to links that will tell me when i will be able to use bluetooth headsets such as my jabra earphone that he reviewed with REGULAR phones. Either thru and adapter or a new phone.
Re:$1550 just to use it? No thanks.

· Score: 5, Informative
I'll bite too.
Why is there a free GPL version on their site for the Mac and Linux? The windows version was ceased cause too many (not naming names here) people refused to follow the rules of license.
QT Rocks!*
*Except for those that think "time != money" and "it !not take money to make money."
The headline should read: "Faux News Considered Suing Fox's "The Simpsons""

Gimp != Photoshop*
*Understatement of year...
theres a little thing called ROI that most people just don't take into consideration...
See the Virgina Tech G5 Super Cluster for a good example of that...

take a look at the restrictions. take a look at the hodge podge of rules. take a look at the shameful paraodies of the apple music commercials.
maybe they should have named it:
hownottobuymusic.com
no but there are some linux hacks out there. but you won't get to use the apple music store which is the best way to buy music for mp3 players.
Oh wait. this is the part where i am supposed to whine that it does not have Ogg Vorbis support right...?!
Turning Japanese, Turning japanese... he really thinks so!
