Tri-State Trucking in Joplin Missouri hauls them around all the time....big whoop.
Same thing with living near a nuke plant or a nuke silo...never bothered me growing up.
Even 50 years later, I still remember it as if it were yesterday, along with the Apollo 1 fire, landing on the moon etc.
It was a really exciting time, in the 60's as we were taking steps to explore outside the earth, then, after we beat the
Russians to the moon, everything pretty much stopped. We build that stupid shuttle, instead of continuing to explore
the moon. We stopped "exploring", and just were content to spend taxpayer money circling the earth in a reusable
dump truck.
Been going on for years...cut cut cut, and NASA in the "old" days got it done.
Now, I seriously doubt they could launch a bottle rocket without 10 meetings, a dozen redesigns,
etc.
John Glenn (or one of the original 7) said it best.
"What do you think about when you're afraid, when you're just ready to launch?" The standard answer in the astronaut corps -- and I think everyone claims parentage -- is, "How do you think you'd feel if you knew you were on top of two million parts built by the lowest bidder in a government contract?"
Another reason I'll probably never leave the borders of the USA. At least (for now) we still have freedom of speech.
Now, with our muslim president, I guess if someone over here insulted their "god" he would probably round them up
& ship them off to Iran to be hung. You can insult just about any religion in the USA you want, but, if you insult
islam, OFF WITH YOUR HEAD LOL.
Just a place for people to think they are really someone.
I stopped going to Digg/Reddit years ago, when it became nothing more
than a giant flamefest.
Doesn't surprise me that the flamebaiters would also be into kiddy porn.
I can just see it now...the government will then come out and say that 3g or whatever "is a right",
which means the only agency that can do it, will be the government. Explain to me how a private
company is to be PROFITABLE (oh that ugly word...profit), if they are to build out an expensive
thing like towers, cabinets etc, in an area WITH FEW PEOPLE. I guess we'll be giving wolves &
bears free access next.
There are a lot of areas that have few people. If you were to overlay this map, with a population
density map, odds are they would almost line up.
Tell the government to go F**k off!
They switched from CFC's to make the foam, to something "green", but the stuff kept flaking off the external
tank, and then it blew a hole in the wing of the Columbia. Same thing will happen with "green" rocket fuel.
Quit screwing around with peoples lives in the name of this mythical "green" crap!
AP has been around pretty much since stereo really took off.
The problem I have with the "junk" called music today is that it matters not if it is played at a club,
on the radio, MP3, CD, it's crap. NO dynamic range, overdriven. You hear the garbage coming out
of cars today, the RUST bounces up and down and the THD is in the 30% range LOL.
Spend thousands of dollars on equipment and it still sounds like junk.
My home stereo is a simple setup, couple of good quality Klipsch speakers, a descent quality amp etc
and it sounds great. You have to take the acoustics of a room into account and how the sounds will
resonate off the walls, furniture etc. Just spending thousands of dollars on sub woofers, horns and a zillion
watt per channel amp won't do you any good.
People should listen to some of AP's work, not just the top 40 songs. Some of his stuff has a lot of depth.
Plug into some good Sennsheiser headphones, close your eyes and listen to it. You might have to hear
it over and over just to hear all of the sounds coming out of what he did back 30 years ago.
When I worked as a bench tech for TI in Houston, in the 80's, they brought a "thumper truck" to the office for
us to look at. The doodlebuggers used it when they were searching for oil, in areas they couldn't use explosives
for the shock waves. They had a similar thingy for oceans that would blast high pressure air into the sea floor.
The T-34's main advantage was the sloping angle of its forward armor. While only a couple inches thick, at the angle
a shell would hit it, it would present itself as a thicker piece of steel to an object impacting it.
Between that, and the sheer number of T-34's thrown at the Germans, they just overwhelmed them.
They can buy anything they want, but, pretty much anyone that comes up against a trained U.S. Air Force, Navy or Marine aviator
will get their butts shot down.
In my line of work, 99% of the time, the older worker is preferred to the younger worker. EXPERIENCE is better from a "break in"
standpoint. Plus, most of the time the experienced worker is "settled", married, has roots, and is more dependable to actually
show up for work, than a younger worker. It's nothing personal. I remember when I was fresh out of school. You'd go out sometimes
at night, during the week, and feel like crap the next morning. I never missed a day from a hangover, but, the productivity of someone
like that the next day is less. It comes from age. More experienced workers, older, are usually more dependable than a younger
worker.
Too many "want to be like everyone else" people in the world so obsessed with fitting in, being trendy like everyone
else. This "boycott" wouldn't happen. Gen X & Y types have to have:
The right car
The right house
The right starbucks coffee
bla bla bla.
You think these self absorbed idiots will give up "their status symbol" phone?
I've only been alive for over 50 years, but, I can remember temperatures in the 60's well above norm for winter, the 70's, well BELOW norm for
winter (they were even talking about another ice age when I was in school!), normal winters in the 80's and on and on.
100 years of climate data DOES NOT prove anything, when you take the earth's age into consideration. Man must really think highly of themselves
if they think spewing a little "greenhouse gas" in the air will screw up the world. One good size volcano can do that, plus, if the yellowstone one
ever popped, it would be right up there with the end of the dinosaurs. The SUN is what can cause the cycles. This "global warming" nonsense is
just something the peacenik/hippie/60's rejects/idiots want you to believe so they can get man off the planet by dying off as a race.
Screw the government, apple, google, HTC, motorola et al.
MY phone...I will do with it as I please. I by a full price phone off contract, I'll d*mn well do with
it as I SEE FIT.
If it were a car, and you wanted to change the software chip, you can. If you want to pull out the
stereo and install a different one, you can...no diff!
If Fox is so bad, why have they been #1 for so long?
Oh, I get it...conservatives are stupid, how silly of me to forget what liberals think of conservatives.
At least until "they pry it from my cold dead fingers"
I just by my phones outright (Galaxy Note now). I just try to "stay under the radar" with usage, because
my 30/month is cheaper for the data I use, versus what they have now.
As long as they "allow" me to keep it, I will.
I have a few newspaper websites that I visit, that, to view the content you have to have the ads displayed.
The most annoying is a ad called "deal of the day" has this annoying way of working. You scroll half way
down the page, start viewing something, and the deal of the day "curtain" scrolls up & down screwing up
what you were viewing.
"Apple redesigned the iPhone's screen at the last minute, forcing an assembly line overhaul. A foreman immediately roused 8,000 workers inside the company's dormitories, and then each employee was given a biscuit and a cup of tea, guided to a workstation and within half an hour started a 12-hour shift fitting glass screens into beveled frames AT THE POINT OF A GUN".
Wonder why they left that part out?
Now obviously, they probably didn't have a gun pointed at their heads, but, when you have a population of people, who, for the most part, have NO OPTIONS, live their lives according to what the STATE tells them, and have no other options to make some sort of money,
you can do what you want. Waking people up, escorting them to work on a TWELVE HOUR shift (most likely with few breaks) is just
flat wrong. Is the American worker lazy? LOL, you bet! Apple made a business decision that it would be easier to move overseas,
than deal with the over regulated environment in the USA. Dealing with the labor unions would have just be the tip of the iceberg to
deal with. There has to be a balance, one that is missing in the USA. From businesses who want to exploit the labor for profit,
and unions who want to exploit the businesses for profit.
130 years, is what? Like 2 seconds, in the HISTORY of the world?
You can't claim "man made" global warming by researching data from only 130 years.
In the history of the world, climate data suggests that the earth has gone up and down
in temperature, WAY BEFORE man set foot on this planet. The "man made" global
warming alarmist, never take into account the OUTPUT FROM THE SUN, causing
the earth to warm. I remember in the 70's as a school age kid, how cold the winters
and cool the summers were, and the "experts" were worried that we were entering a
new ice age.
Because the 20-30 something people that I run into day to day are MORONS.
They can't say two sentences together without "bro" "dude", nor can they write
anything down without using "@, 2, U" for words. Hats on backwards, baggy pants,
an attitude that gives the impression they are entitled, no manors, an education
system that is more involved with outcome based education, political correctness,
and brainwashing kids into thinking that they are entitled to everything, capitalism
is bad, and socialism is good, then what would you expect businesses to do?
I'm sure the following will have a problem with this idea.
Plumbers Union
Electrical workers Union
Carpenters Union
Sheet Metal workers Union
This Union
That Union
Politicians that cater to unions
As long as "big labor" has a stranglehold on the United States, don't look for any cool hi-tech to come to
the United States, we shipped most of our manufacturing to China.
You really want "bio" fuel to take off?

I think almost every kid in America would get behind it, if you made it from SUGAR BEETS LOL.
But, I'm sure those are used for sweeteners, not fuel.
There would not be an "energy problem", if regulators, enviro nuts would shut the h*ll up and let companies
pump it out of the ground without all of the red tape.

Could produce something, that is worth LESS than the cost to MANUFACTURE it!

Given the terrible shape of the U.S. economy, this may be a picture into our future. People will be desperate to work for ANYTHING.
