    No big fucking deal. Everyone pretty much chooses the same general area everyday. It is not a fight to get to THE best desk first.

    I don't really like the centralized shit, they can watch stuff too easily.

    On a side note:
    Sun also has its own word processing and office suite, called Star Office, which it has begun selling, instead of it giving away, in a sign of maturity for the Microsoft Office rival.

    Explain to me how selling a piece of software is "maturity". Idiots.

    yeah, but most people don't want to spend an additional $250+ for a game system (including necessary attachments) when they have a $1000+ one sitting at home (plus most of these people pirate the damn games anyway ;)

    The people who modded up were most likely in the same situation as I was.

    They came from good families yet still did drugs, had detention, were violaters, etc.

    Let's take a look at Ecstacy for example. A good majority of the users and dealers are middle to upper class kids that grew up in the suburbs and found something that was illegal and fun.

    I didn't believe it either until it happened to me.

    Like I said in a previous post, I routinely experience tingling, pain, cramping, and shoulder pains.

    This only started after I began 8+ hour days in front of a computer that didn't have very good Egronomic setup.

    Just b/c it doesn't happen to you does NOT mean it doesn't happen to others.

    I have an Egro KB here on my desk at home, I rarely feel any pain while typing (even doing long research papers and normal crap on my computer).

    I spend 8 hours a day in front of a computer at work typing worthless shit all day. The KB there is not Egro and I routinely feel sharp pains and experience cramping outside of work. Granted, my posture probably isn't the best but it obviously shows that the difference is huge when using the E KB over the regular.

    That is my experience, YMMV.

    The judge did what he believed was best for limiting the individual from doing it again.

    Most people don't understand (or care to understand) that there is a difference between "commercially available software" and GPL shit.

    The Judge probalby believed (rightfully so) that the individual used the Internet to learn about, discuss, and carry out his attacks. To the judge, limiting his access was the best way to limit most of his methods.

    If he didn't "ban" him from doing it again, the individual might feel it was a slap on the wrist and think the ruling at FACE VALUE and do it again b/c the judge didn't specifically say he could not.

    My parents were good parents I would have to say. I still got suspended from school, sat in dentention for most of my high school career, smoked weed, shoplifted, etc.

    My father was most certainly not hiring hitmen to kill off associates and they spent time w/me and did what parents are supposed to.

    Don't go spreading that crap when it is complete non-sense.

    Piracy only fueled the need to see it in the theatre. I saw the movie in the theatre w/in 2 weeks of its release (I never have money when it comes time for something important ;) but I had already seen it on the computer.

    The quality was eh. I saw it, I knew what it was, but I wanted to see it again.

    My roommate not only saw it on the computer, he also saw it *twice* in the theatre.

    Movie piracy is working just like music sharing. Same results.

    Fuck you MPAA/RIAA.

    You have an older Toshiba laptop sitting in your closet and the best thing you can think of to do w/it is make a robot out of it?

    You will not only have a Toshiba laptop in your closet, you will also have this robot as well.

    My roommate and I use our laptops as wireless web machines and MP3 servers to the stereo, that's the most selfish way to use an old laptop, obviously giving it away would be even better.

    Geeks and their toys, sheesh ;-)

    According to the article, "The network, which became available for public use on Monday, is free to use for now. Organizers envision charging $20 a month for access once the network, covering a 4-square-mile area of downtown Pittsburgh, is built, according to Executive Director Ron Gdovic."

    Obviously the network is freely accesable for now, in the near future it will be $20/mo (probably going to go way up after that).

    I don't remember Windows/Alpha having quite the backing (both financially and publically) that the XBox does.

    I don't like the XBox myself, but that doesn't mean that people out there don't either. MS has created a machine that is doing what they want.. Infiltrating people's homes so that they can have Billy come onto your TV set daily to tell you his demands for the next 24 hours.

    XBox isn't going to die just yet. Don't compare it to platforms that were dead from lack of public interest.

    NJ is plagued by deaths at amusement parks. Six Flags has had several years of good luck recently, but I remember on many different occasions a good number of deaths did occur due to accidents at their park.

    The G's were not the problem obviously it was stupidity, malfunctions, etc.

    I don't see the point of all this. Who the fuck are these people to tell me that I cannot pay my own money to ride an AMUSEMENT ride for fun. It is in NO way the responsibility of a small group of individuals to decide what I want to do w/myself. If I want to take the risk to ride these rides, I will.

    Fix the other fucking problems out there (airports, large cities, etc) before bothering me w/what I am interested in.

    Who voted for these fucking morons?

    In this instance I hadn't ridden any rollercoasters in a least a year prior but I had ridden several other roller coasters that day. I believe that they included other looping roller coasters.

    I went to Cedar Point the day before Labor Day back in 1998. The park was empty (take heed /.'ers) and we rode ride after ride several times. That feeling that I experienced was not felt on any of those rides (even ones that I am not particularly fond of (the one where you are either dropped or rocketed) in a seat 30000 stories.

    G-Force really fucked w/me. I am not a big fan of King's Island as it is (I am less interested in great scenery and poor rides than terrible scenery and great rides (Cedar Point)).

    Other than a single individual no one has answered "Has G-Force created a similar experience for anyone else?"

    I have ridden a few roller coasters in my life. Mostly in parks in OH and PA. Nothing to make a sweeping generalization, but I will anyway.

    I went to Cedar Point in OH a few times and I have been to various other parks in the past 10 or so years. Last summer I went to Kings Island in Southern OH and I had the strangest experience on a roller coaster ever.

    I rode Face-Off w/my gf. After the ride both my gf and I felt dizzy and disoriented. I wasn't as bad as she was, she had to sit for about 20 mins to regain her composure. I was definitly not stable on my feet and seemed confused mentally, very strange.

    Was this a result of the G-Forces or something else?

    I don't suffer from motion sickness on any other ride, and I have never been physically ill by any amusement ride.

    Anyone have a similar experience riding Face-Off?

    Honestly, if they are going to spend that much money ($275k + $15/mile) they should sink a ton more into DSL.

    When I had DSL the service absolutely blew. 1000+ms pings everywhere and only 70k/s for 768/128.

    I don't own a cell phone, none of that shit is important to me. They need to fix other problems first.

    I can't imagine that the code would be *that* large. It wouldn't be practical. Not *everyone* has broadband (although they should ;)

    Well, if it has one touch "Play a DVD" then it wouldn't be much harder to do "Set Time on VCR".

    I am on cable. I pay $49.95/mo. I get a steady 3mbit connection. No peak hours, no crap. Just steady bandwith. That's nearly 2 fucking T1's.

    You tell me that two T1s to your house costs $49.95? Woah. You own.

    You're paying for bandwith. Not the fucking email or news. Believe me.

    I don't work for RR but from what I understand as far as Cable ISPs go email/news/webspace is a FREE service that comes along w/your cable Internet.

    They don't give credit for downtime on these and they don't consider them mission critical.

    If you are so hepped up about your email/news/webspace do it yourself. They are under no obligation to give it to you.

    I use RR. My webpage is not rr.com, my email address is not rr.com. I use rr.com to read news (on the few occasions I decide to) only b/c it is fast as shit.
