  1. Everyone panic! Except not on Net Neutrality Goes Down in Flames as FCC Votes To Kill Title II Rules (arstechnica.com) · · Score: 4, Interesting

You know, it's funny. 10 years ago I would be right there with you folks, panicking and hyperventilating ( well, drinking a beer and grousing anyway. We all cope in our ways, don't judge )..but if the years have taught me anything, it's to appreciate opportunity when it comes along.

Had I my own way, my and other's lives would be infinitely better with virtually no downside. However, the world doesn't work like that ( shocking, I know ). Once I stopped fighting it, I realized that despite it's broken nature, the world still manages to push forward to society's benefit ( though most refuse to acknowledge that ). Set backs are sometimes needed to make leaps forward, and sometimes "set backs" are only considered such because individuals lack the vision to find the opportunity.

So relax; breath. Trust in yourself and find the opportunities presented. You, and society, will be fine, I promise.

  2. If a foreign state have information that they need to share with the American electorate, they should do so publicly.

    Which they did.

I'm gratified you see my point.

  3. So..."shoot the messenger" then.

Was the data released incorrect? Was it relevant? Then I don't give two shits who released it, I'm just happy they did. Hell, I wouldn't have even cared if Clinton won as long as the people voting for her knew what kind of scum they were voting for.

  4. Do you really believe a negative finding will shut anything down? How many times did the Republicans investigate benghazi? That's still following Clinton around. Democrats are no better.

Trump will forever be linked to Russia in their minds, regardless of the evidence.

Point of fact, I still don't know what's so terrible about what the Russians supposedly did. In another time, that'd have been called "journalism".

  5. Look, I get it; Trump is horrible. He's a horrible person and an even worse president.

    However.

Why SHOULD the US shoulder the responsibility, when we aren't even the worst polluter? In our rush to criticize Trump, we're giving the two worst polluters on the planet a free pass. If Trump pulling back on the accord prompts China and India to step up their game...isn't that a net benefit to the climate?

Unhinged criticism is precisely how Trump got elected, and is likely to be why he gets re-elected.

The problem, and I think you missed this, is that no one is even trying to solve the male homeless problem. Instead we see shelter after shelter set up for women and children, who represent the minority of homeless.

Homeless men have effectively been told they have no value to society UNLESS they are in service to a woman or a child.

This, and literally hundreds of other things, is what goes through most men's minds when we're being lectured about our privilege.

    Hence, Kokuyo's joke.

  8. The attempt seems pitifully inept. To me, it seems designed to grab attention, which makes me suspicious that something else is going on. Distraction from some other part of the process, or for something completely unrelated?

Of course, it could just be a script kiddie or some other idiot. Hanlon's razor may apply here: "any sufficiently advanced incompetence is indistinguishable from malice"

Roundabouts are great in principle, but your population has to be at least this...--->--- smart to handle them.

  10. I want S to succeed so the Windows Store is more populated?

Sorry; no. I don't particularly care about that, OR Windows S. Given MS's behavior since 7, I'm more inclined to want to see it fail.

  23. On one hand, I celebrate this activity. The more light you shed on government behavior, the better as far as I'm concern ( I think Snowden is a hero, for reference ). Trump and his administration need to be kept in check, to say nothing of the criminals in congress.

On the other...where the fuck was he during Obama's term? He's a hypocrite who only cares about this now that "His Guy" isn't in office, which means as soon as Trump's term ends, he'll go back to thinking the government can do no wrong.
