How do you tax electricity without increasing the cost of electricity used for normal household purposes: lighting, computers, A/C, appliances, etc.? You would have to require all charging be done through an additional meter. Even if there is another meter in the house, the electric vehicle could still be charged via a dryer outlet.
How do you tax electricity for those whose net usage is zero due to solar panels?
Dead reckoning should provide data accurate enough to find the wreckage of a downed plane. Any GPS system on a plane should have (if it doesn't already) a backup that uses dead reckoning.
(At best Motorola might be able to identify the distributor of the hardware in question, after that it's unlikely anyone was tracking MAC addresses to their ultimate buyer.)
It appears to be a MAC address used on a mobile device. If it is a cellphone, the manufacturer almost certainly can tie it to an IMEI number and probably track exactly where it was sold. I assume that it was used as a burner so there may not be further records of the owner, but the IMEI should be logged by the ISP when it connected to the network.
More likely, though it was used on a tablet that only used WiFI, so no network connection logs except for WiFI logs.
All of that assumes that the bomber didn't unlock the device and spoof the MAC.
Just like my friends Grandma who was told by the very same Canadian health care system: Yes you have cancer, but according to the Canadian government you're too old to start treatments.
That was probably the best option, irrespective of cost. Treatment for cancer may in some cases provide only a very short increase in lifetime (and in some cases, no increase), while destroying quality of life.
Comcast has set their data cap at (typically) 1TB. That's enough that few people will hit it today.
This gets people to accept the idea of a data cap, in the knowledge that eventually large numbers of people will hit it. Once they hit it, what's the choice? Go back to cablefor your TV watching, or pay more for Internet service. Win-win for Comcast.
I don't actually see where "emergencies" are an exception to the spending rule laid down in the Constitution.
I wonder what would happen if the Dems turned around and said that they would not fund the unpaid wages after the shutdown is over? That would be the nuclear option.
I remember hearing an interview with a Trump voter in Alaska.
He was all fired up by Trump's anti-immigrant rhetoric, yet immigrants had absolutely zero impact on his life., he had never even seen an immigrant.
It's not about immigration: it's all about irrational xenophobia. The don't like either the color of their skin, the fact that they might want to eat different foods, or some other lifestyle difference.
If you are trying to say that the fastest EV you can buy is the iPace, that would also be a false claim.
Jaguar put out some BS numbers earlier in the year, but when the models actually went into production, they were slower than the top of the line Model S. Actually, the are slower than an AWD Model 3 (not even the performance model).
There is a better solution and it has been in place in CA for many years. Require a minimum time for the yellow light based on the applicable speed limit. This must be combined with laws that prevent speed limits being set too low.
There is a second component which is also important: require that contracts for the installation of automated camera systems be revenue neutral: the amount that the company is paid to install and operate the cameras is unrelated to the amount of fines collected.
The bill will come down some once Trump unwinds the war engagements, denuclearizes NK, and makes our NATO "allies" pay 2% of their GDP like they're supposed to.
Fuel taxes are used to pay for construction and maintenance of roads. EVs, by virtue of not using gasoline, are not paying for the roads they ride upon.
Neither are large trucks, which cause almost all the damage to road surfaces. That's a much bigger financial hit.
If you charge at night when rates are low, you are using baseload power which is often from coal plants. If you discharge during peak use, you are offsetting natural gas turbine plants. Coal produces more CO2 per kwh than natural gas.
Base load plants are generally more efficient than peak load plants. Is the amount of CO2 from an inefficient peak load plant greater than that from a more efficient base-load plant?
Here in CA, the amount of electricity generated using coal is very small -- I think it is limited to areas served by Los Angeles Department of Water and Power
Zero-emissions generation facilities (e.g. solar, hydro, wind) are slow to start up and slow down, making them poorly suited for peak/transient loads. Coal, natural gas, and diesel are far more responsive.
I think you have that back to front. Hydro is quick to start up. Coal is typically used for base-load generation is typically slow to start up. Natural gas: it depends on the type of plant (base load or peaker). Wind is quick to start up.
Even a lithium-ion battery has only 99% charge efficiency, so it makes sense that adding a battery to your photovoltaic (PV) system can increase emissions compared to a PV system with no battery.
I think it is not so simple. Not all fossil fuel sources of electricity are equal.
Here in CA, with a significant amount of residential solar installed, there is concern about the "duck curve" -- solar output tails off around 6pm, while demand increases until about 9pm. This demand must be met by using relatively inefficient peaker plants. Batteries can be used to shift the output of solar panels to the 6-9pm peak time, thus reducing the need for inefficient peaker plants to be fired up.
I own two EVs and my cost of electricity is zero. Solar panels FTW!

CentOS 6 is still on php 5.3.
And that, friends, is a very good example of why you should not get legal advice from /..

Yellowstone doesn't really close for winter. Instead it transitions to winter operations: access via snowmobile, organized tours only, etc..
That was T-Mobile, I think.
"On June 28, 2010, the company announced that it would begin to upgrade its network from HSPA+ 21 to HSPA+ 42 beginning sometime in 2011.[70] T-Mobile marketed HSPA+ services as 4G.[71]"

2WD trucks have most of their weight on the undriven (also unlocked) wheels. Teslas have lots of weight and many are 4WD.
Teslas are heavy (all those batteries) and many have 4WD.
In my Tesla, programming the GPS while driving is simple:
1. Press the scroll wheel button on the steering wheel.
2. Say "Navigate to xyz".
Done.

Just ignore him. He always trolls articles on EVs, renewable energy, etc..

IOW, never.

Remember that slavery was not abolished in the USA and still exists legally -- in prisons.
