I don't share my last name with people I game with. Actually I don't even share my 1st name with them, they just call me by my avatar's name. Having my real name + an e-mail address for a guild forum where some one can log my ip address is just asking for trouble.
How hard is it to put the computer case and monitor in a Plexiglas case and lock it, with only the keyboard and mouse cables coming out? The operator would not have a key to the Plexiglas case. If the lock is broken or cables cut and spliced it would be pretty obvious. This would prevent a lot of what you describe. I'm sure the government entities can come up with something better than my thought that took about 2 seconds.
I wonder if they had an uptick in creativity that wasn't being tested for...
I use to work in an area where there were highly creative people and highly logical people. The logical people considered the creatives idiots; the creatives couldn't be bothered with the logicals mind numbing diatribes. I viewed both as having different skill sets.
I have to disagree, I nearly flunked out of algebra but moved to a new school and my parents were able to get me into a geometry class, even though I didn't have the algebra down yet. I aced geometry and was able to show marked improvement in algebra, the logical proofs helped me tackle algebra and other subjects. If they had not begged to let me in to the geometry class I would basically only have a HS diploma instead of being college educated with a career.
They saw the importance of math and teaching one methods of thinking and this post makes me realize I should be even more thankful to them than I already am.
How are the European Libraries dealing with this on their public access terminals. In the U.S. Libraries there is at least of the illusion that has one has the right to research without oversight.
..are good for you. Some examples of things that you may have no interest in like State or US Govt. courses if you don't know how your system works you are doomed to be a victim of it. I could easily see religion courses getting the ax if it is community based. I've said this before in a different thread and I will say it here: just because you don't believe in a faith doesn't mean there is no value in learning about the many faiths that shape many people's philosophical views. Learn about the faith and you have an advantage business wise in the non-official business interactions which can influence a deal quite a bit.
Care to elaborate where you think this happens. Most Librarians (grade school excluded) I know adamantly preserve privacy and enable access to information and despise and fight vigorously against anything that tries to infringe on those ideals. On the other hand if a Library (particularly Universities) does not control it's own computers (i.e. separate IT dept. that doesn't answer to Library heads) then your privacy is probably not protected in the same way with regards to internet access.
There are more consoles and PCs in the market making manuf./distribution cheaper per unit. Add download services to drive ala steam d2d etc and it is even cheaper. Having 4 recessions between now and then (we are currently in one) keeps prices low since you have to try and keep a house over your head... they are just being greedy I hate whiny pieces like this one. -troll be happy we aren't charging you more.
Mom buys PS3 for Jr.'s B-Day, Mom doesn't want to read a manual for an hour trying to set up and firmware upgrade the console. Beside there's other things she is doing like setting up and breaking down the Birthday event. Mom doesn't feel like hearing Jr. Bitch about how long it is taking and doesn't trust Jr. quite enough not to entirely break the system or have the Flat panel screen fall on top of him trying to run and pull cable.
It's greedy for BB to be charging so much but if there wasn't a need they wouldn't bother to provide the service.
The problem with this is that the other stores look at the pile of money BB is making and start doing it to. The legitimate ones lose value as a non-competing dog in the eyes of the stock market and you know what happens after that.
Ars did a review of this at least a month or two ago. They were missing the the screen shots of the configure utility. Also I think the company is pushing hard to get the 7s out before the 9s come out (wireless).

Sure you may want to stay with the company but today's business world has gone the way of the NFL. Free agency and no loyalty on the part of the employee or the employer. I would prefer stability but then again the instability means we get paid higher than a lot of other career paths.
Don't discount French. Between Africa starting to catch up and many Arab nations using French as a second language.. knowing it can land you lucrative employment. Think about UAE Dubai's financial center that's looking to be the epicenter of all things business for Africa and Far/Middle/Near East.

I wonder how the construction hat with the 2 can holders and Y straw would go over there.
Reminds me of the NFL and New Orleans with regards to 'Who Dat' http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Who_Dat%3F .

Nice to see they were 'just wired different'.

The dude walking in front of her. She is using an earphone. What this film needs is a bigger earphone. http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_qoUwETXaAb0/Sfpx3qpsY0I/AAAAAAAADEw/qZ2KJgIZzrw/s1600-h/bigger-ear-horn.gif
If he was in the U.S. He would be canned soon. It's nice to see someone fighting the good fight. Hope he keeps on keeping on.

I invite you to come visit Austin or Denton where the live music scene in restaurants is well and alive

Dear Lord....better jack out of the Matrix before the agents get you.
You get to:
1. Travel
2. Work on new projects (i.e) not get bored
3. meet new clients (not stuck with the same PHB)
4. Work with the latest tech.
