I can see this idea being utilized in Dubai/ United Arab Emirates. They're actually building tons of small islands/islettes. There was a special regarding this on CNBC with Maria Bartiromo. I could see a huge datacenter on a ship/platform serving this future community utilizing sea water as a chiller and saving money on the energy bill. I think an environmental impact study might need to be done if the bay will be absorbing all that heat though.
Exactly. Addiction isn't defined as how MUCH you do a certain thing, but the consequences doing that action have on your life.
I have to disagree with you there. I'm not saying that just because some one does something a lot they are automatically an addict, but it doesn't not mean they are not an addict either.
This is called a high functioning addict. There's many cases of various types of addicts living a dual life where no one but the closest people know about the addiction. Even some instances where the ones closest to the addict don't even know for years on end.
It's a given that companies need to do their due diligence regarding security of data. I can have slightly more forgiveness towards a security breach than a company/data policy that allows my data being on stand alone systems. The black hats will always be at least a half step ahead in the game. But losing data to stupidity and lack of policy on how data is utilized and stored really pisses me off.
My wife just received a letter from Anheuser Busch / Busch Entertainment Corporation last Month. Apparently an office was broken into and some desktops/laptops were stolen. A.Busch did the right thing by notifying us that some of my wifes information was on the stolen equipment. However, here is the kicker, my wife has not worked for A.Busch for 7-8 years. What the hell is wrong with them that they are keeping copied personal data on stand alone systems and why is the data being on their 7 years after she discontinued her working relationship with the company.
Sega CDx it was too cool of a system to let go. There were even a few cartridge games (not all) where I could start a music CD in them then push the cart in and play the game to my fav CDs.... good times.
The advantage of having AF do this is their access to air and space communications.
Hypothetically however, if I wanted to have my Cyber command be as 'flexible' as possible then I would make it its own agency. This allows Cyber Command to avoid doing things by the 'book'.
Make an order that AF will (hate) need to support on a com level the new cyber command and you bypass a lot of hoops.
3 on every corner!? Is this some kind of trick physics question? Are they stacked on top of one another?
In Texas we have multiple churches on the same corner. This is done by renting/leasing space out of a strip mall. Adding dark curtains and security bars to the door.
My wife has XM. I've heard commercials for some dog formula that makes your dog's fur shinier (sp?) . I've heard other non-event commercials too but the dog one is the only one I remember since I have a dog.

Colin is disgusted with politics and Washington. The misinfomration given to him before he presented infront of the U.N., and the debacle on Meet the Press where an Administration aid tried to stop the interview during a question. clip
I'd like to know what will happen when a Tornado rips through a solar or wind farm. I live in Fort Worth and there's a sky scraper in the middle of downtown that was abandoned for years because a tornado hit it. It's finally been remodeled but if a tornado can hit the center of a decently developed city it can certainly hit a solar farm.
An environmental impact study is prudent.
I'm not against wind solar, in fact I'd like to see solar farms put in 'lifeless deserts' and see if the shade could actually help the land out in some way. The Solar farm won't block out 100% of the light.
I can't beleive the Dems rolled over on this...
I'm a democrat and I am ashamed that Reid and Pelossi(sp?) rolled over on this like they have on other things.
My only unfounded hypothesis on this is that the illegal wiretapping was also performed on Congressmen/Women and so if they investigate then they uncover their own scat.
Conspiracy theory...? maybe, but I'm open to other suggestions why our Democratic Party is rolling over like a an old Ford Explorer with faulty tires on it.
and won't be putting my information online.
However the possible benefits of this are..
1. I can go travel anywhere in the world that has net access and be comfortable that if I have an unexpected illness/injury (makeing me unconscious) that the local doctor and my wife can pull up what medications I have severe allergic reactions to and not kill me accidently.
2. Verification of data. Let's say the next evolution of this google health is that I can request 'electronic data capture' of my medical records/history uploaded to my google profile to an inbox. I have the option of reviewing this information and if it is correct then including it to my complete profile. How many people know what was written in that folder the doctor and nurses write in gives to his staff to file away. This gives you an opportunity what kind of probe they stuck in you and how far up or in. This is also a check on the doctor's and staff.. they better record the right dosage, which in some hospitals is barcoded and can be scanned to a recording device before applying the medication. The scanning of medication also leads to being able to track what batch certain immunizations came out of. Tracking the batch number can verify if someone had a bad reaction to an immunization whethere that batch had a contaminate in it.
3. Pooling of data. We can see what percentage of google health users have X disease and see trends.... ie one zipcode starts getting a flare up and an investigation can be done to see what the causation of said disease is in that area is.
As I said before though.. some serious protections will have to be in place before I ever use this service or I get really old and don't care about my privacy anymore and more worried about my health.
When we need different systems to run thousands of cues for a show (lighting, pyrotechnics (with a deadman switch), special effects, audio, video projection and automated staging) we use SMPTE time code . IANACD I am not a chipset developer but if you could feed the multiple cores a time code pre-processor then everything post processor should sync up on cue in your various outputs.
1. Have a bunch of bolt on/insert starting blocks (used in track in field) set into the wall/floor/ceiling. Have the two teams form a scrum and see who can be pushed to the other side of the pitch/playfield. This would provide some good resistance for the participants which would help with maintaining bone mass/strength.
2. Harness 2 individuals, have a rope (or bungee if you want to have Jackass the Movie type fun) tied to the back of the harnesses. The playing field is a bunch of bolted in climbing wall holds to the wall. Have the two participants start in the center and climb/crawl to opposite sides of the room and try and drag your opponent with you.
With bungie I imagine it would look like 3:16 time frame in this Youtube video if some one were to let go.

I used to work at a theme park that used multiple turtle beach cards for recording as well as sending signal to the soundboard and SMPTE timecode to projectors and Fire Works control box (Manned by a lic. safety person to stop fireing if an issue arose). This was way back in the mid 90s and we were replaceing a cart track audio system with computers. We never received a faulty card and never had to send one back for repair the five years I worked there.
Have notes prepared for them by students paid for taking notes at my college. The college actively recruits note takers for this purpose. Just because the disabled student doesn't go to class doesn't mean that the notes are destroyed the dissabled student still gets them.
In WoW some items are completely unacessible unless you kill so many Monsters over and over and...... (you get the idea).
Sure theres some comparable items out there you don't have to grind faction for if you do some research so you can avoid that duldrum(sp?).
Blizzard's Next step? The loot table on the new upcoming dungeon bosses will be dependent on your faction rep score. So much for avoiding the rep grind.

Would MS still have gone after AOL if they had a successful bid on Yahoo?
forgive my ignorance what is OBCO? I couldn't find a reference on wikipedia and yahoo gave me the Old Bridge Chamber Orchestra.
