  3. Re:Cutting cabling on The Problem Of Unused Cabling · · Score: 2, Interesting

Sure they can take the patch panels, but cutting the cables is rediculous. They can disconnect the telco connectors from the punch blocks and take their equipment (thus leaving the cabling intact).
This cutting of cable sounds more like unscrupulous contractors at work.
Money saved and resources usage reduced. The Planet will thank you

I don't think smart had anything to do with the "change of heart."

Some Jack Off at the RIAA probably pushed too far demanding some information right here - right now, pi**ed off an executive at Charter and the executive started to ask him/herself what the he** am I bending backwards for.

  9. The problem w/ charities is........ on How Can Techies Give Back? · · Score: 1

The problem with Charities is theres too darn many of them. I should elaborate before I get berated. I think that hollywood/sports stars have too many foundations. Instead of helping an existing foundation they put together there own. I'm sure there is some tax write off involved as well. Don't get me wrong if a Star sheds light on a new issue that needs recognition by all means make a foundation but don't create Joe Bazooka's Cancer foundation when there is already an American Cancer foundation. - I digress and shall await my verbal/written lashings.

  10. If you're looking for excellent fidelity..... on Computer Audio - To USB or Not to USB? · · Score: 1

If you're looking for excellent fidelity then go with a card that has an optical out. That way you don't have to worry about noise generated by ur PC. Optical is also not affected by EMF from all your power cables. Plug that optical cable into ur audio system receiver and let your amps do the work. -doing taxes is a lot like hell only it lasts longer and hurts more.

  11. Depends on Where you live. on Where Do You Find Your Foreign Music? · · Score: 1

When I lived in Orlando, I was privy to the Virgin Mega Record Store. This store had a wide selection of African, Asian, Caribbean, Middle Eastern etc. etc. Even better this store had Vinyl that DJs could buy for spinning. There's always amazon.com you can find some obscure stuff there. Also check out local alternative papers for looking up the various record shops in your area.
