What is better?having a road map and fail to be able to drive on the road 2 years after it is supposed to be due? or not having a roadmap but having good solid roads to drive on? other than Intel I have yet to see a reliable software roadmap. Half the shit they just make up as they go, and drop it when it isn't possible.
Besides software roadmaps aren't meant to plan your business around. if that was the case more people would be upgrading to Vista. They are only for slowing down your competitors.
in the USA about a year after 9/11 a man killed his wife and older daughter, and tried to killed his youngest daughter.
why? because his brother slept with his wife and his wife dishonored him so they had to die. Yes he was from Turkey, and he killed them and admitted that he killed them in the finest traditions of Islam. The last two points were kept out of most of the media, so as to avoid a biased jury.
That is a fact. I would rather live in an immoral society that has respect for others, than in one were you die if you don't pray often enough.
personally with the way they treat women I am surprised they know which hole to fsck. i guess your bound to get it right sooner or later.
and I had exactly the opposite. I picked up the iphone and was resizing images and pages quickly. Of course I can get used to any GU OS in seconds so I am hardly a good example.
you are right about the double click though, a double click is a double tap.
If AT&T techies actually read slashdot then they would be smart enough to setup the system with more than just a browser user agent tag and a phone number.
how many systems have been setup that way and then suddenly laughed at?
The other option is why bother? Most people who visit starbucks don't know what a user agent string is, or have enough money that they don't care.
Really? the SR-71 was designed and built in the 1960's. Last i checked that was both more than a few years ago and was more fuel efficient when traveling mach 3.
and you call me arrogant. At least I know the history of jet engines.
1) i do drag my phone everywhere 2)15 minutes in the middle of a snow storm to get to work. 3) I would rather watch the road with the other 70% of americans, as most of us live in area's with mediocore public transportation. 4) why can't they simply receive traditional TV broadcasts? I wouldn't mind listening to ABC morning news. You can pick the signals up in every city already. this just has the extra cable packages.
Actually I can shave about 250,000 years off of that. I think it takes the galaxy two million years to complete on revolution. So proper planning means you can literally have the galaxy meet you part way.
want to know something silly. Adium is based off of the same libraries as pidign. Just a different set of devs. In fact there are so many ways to customize adium it is scary.
How Much Exchange and Windows lowers total Cost of Ownership. Sure This isn't MSFT's fault that lies strictly with with IT department, but if MSFT worked better with others this wouldn't be so much of a problem.
Once your locked into MSFT's system you can leave easily. I have 15 year old email boxes that load up just fine in thunderbird, Apple Mail, pine, etc.
Think about it. That does include things like Solaris, AIX, etc but Windows represents the bulk of that number. Also remember many businesses buy windows twice for every install. Once for their volume site license, and one OEM install that is required to come with every computer sold by the major manufacturers. Dell doesn't sell a computer without an OS very often, and large corporate need to be sure of the licensing so they wipe and reinstall after paying for the OEM install of windows.
Not when you need twice as many of them for the same number of servers. it might be down to 1.5 times now with win 2k3 but you still need more windows admins.
So quantity over quality? In the end Windows costs the industry over $60 billions dollars a year. A figure from MSFT's sponsors.
better yet employee theft. can you imagine a government case against you falling apart because the documents that an employee stole are no longer readable?
This isn't a clone, it's hack like installing netBSD on a toaster, with a remote bread loader.
Second neither this or Pystar systems can receive updates via Apple system updater.
Thirdly Pystar has pissed off the guy who makes the OS X boot on generic hardware software. I am waiting for him to sue Pystar, Apple won't even have to get their hands dirty.
While I understand that why is it only MSFT IIS and MS SQL that's affected. If apache and MS SQL was being attacked and it has happened then i could fully understand it, but only MS IIS, MS SQL sites are affected. while the flaw may not be MSFT's sole fault how could 500,00 people setup a server wrong including the DHS? Maybe MSFT's history of poor coding and security practices lead to unsafe default options? security should always be over applied and then removed in layers.
Security like clothing works best in layers. You can always add a layer but you can only remove so many. prepare for an Arctic winter to start with, and you will have everything you need for the beach.
Of all the land warrior gear, that information is what is still being used. the gun mounted camera's are normally stripped off. but the ability to digital mark buildings as cleared, as well as have command know exactly where each squad is and able to coordinate each squad together is a huge help.
Communications enhances abilities, and more importantly tactics. Squad 1 is under fire, Squad B is closer but on the wrong side of several walls. Squad D while much farther away however only needs to walk around a building and start sniping the back side of the attacking force.
You can't always figure that out from radio chatter fast enough, but with GPS location information command should be able to see it on a digital map.
Name one other space vehicle that comes anywhere close to those statistics. It's not the Soyuz where the shuttles carry twice the personnel, many times the payload, and still have some 30% more launches.
the shuttle isn't cheap but it is also the only large scale vehicle of returning satellites to earth safely. My only hope is that before they retire the shuttles they go get the Hubble Space telescope and put it up on display in the Smithsonian. That is a mission worthy of showing just how superior the shuttles are.
right now with this post I am on a 12" 800x600 LCD laptop for work.
with DSL slashdot isn't too bad, but some sites I don't even bother visiting. The bloat isn't so much bandwidth but processor requirements. remember when you could browse the web with a 25mhz 486. now if you don't have an 1 ghz Pentium you can barely load up most websites.
Whenever I hear that The best comeback line is everyone eats at McDonald's it must be good .
Just because you served a billion people doesn't mean your shit is very good, it just means it is good enough.
depends on if you buy the replacement or the military does.
you $1,000 the US Military $100,000

errno.h is part of the POSIX standard and is the property of the Open Group.
I forgot about that one. hahaha

no but I bet there was a small oder as he got up.
while you are quite correct the last panel of this comic

has the one of the better versions of that quote.
Um okay just where does iron man keep his rocket fuel? Positional thrusters?
Where can i get some boots with engines capable of mach 2? A real life mach 2 engine is much larger than a man.

The shuttle is safe, and fairly easily reusable.
Cheap not so much, the Turn around time wasn't what was predicted either, but still the we normally launch a shuttle every 3 months.
